wouldn't it be better to have 2x500ml bottles instead of 1x1l bottle though?Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Maintaining my theme of big water bottles but in a bigger gear this time.
Viewpoint at Luz Ardiden just down from the ugly ski station.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -

I’m afraid that doesn’t look right, needs a rolled up tub under the saddle rather than the saddle bag.0

We are all between 44 and 50 (I'm the oldest) and enjoy riding nice bikes, not ready for a tourer just yet!
In terms of water bottlage, it was bloody hot in Mallorca in October (remember our long, hot summer in the UK?), and I can only speak for me (front Pinarello) but I use 710ml Camelbaks, and on any normal ride under 50k, Ill take one, anything over 50k, Ill take 2...on a 112km ride in Mallorca, up and down Sa Calobra and Puig Major, I actually got through 3 and a half bottles....0 -

I went through the woods first before I decided to head that way, so I added a bit extra distance to my 'goal'. And downhill all the way home!
Unless I’ve just woken up from a 50 year post-apocalypse coma, that’s not the same Walworth as the one I used to live in.0 -

That's the one that I'm more familiar with as well. It's weird how the memory works but I can clearly remember when I was a very small kid (late 1950s maybe) and I managed to get to get separated from my mum in East Lane one Sunday morning and wound up getting taken to the local police station until I was eventually reunited with her. Just wish I could remember the stuff that happened last week so clearly!Cannondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra

Whatever weather the day throws at you, it's easily one of the bonniest bits of cycle path in the UK.
OK, maybe not when it's a 25mph headwind straight off the N Sea, but the view's nice - it's just a shame you're too busy crying over your stem to look up!0 -
We've all been there.
In late September I elected to take my summer bike and was lamenting that this was the last ride before swapping over to the winter hack. It was windy. Probably the maximum wind speed I would entertain and still go riding.
I also figured that a headwind out and a tail wind home would be better than a cross wind. At one point, where the road rises slightly and only very slightly, I was standing on my pedals in 1st - 34 x 27 at a warp speed of 9mph.
Avoiding a loop, hills and a potential cross wind, I rode the same route back. At the point of this rise and being a slight downhill and only a very slight downhill, I clocked the bike at 34mph and I was not pedalling with much effort at all.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
