Looks nice, although BB looks a bit bare with only a single chainring.

When are you going to splash the cash on some bartape?

Soft spot for Boardmans. All function and look sick with deep section wheels.

    It's this bike.

Since changed the seatpost to Fizik 00 (was cheap) and Saddle to Fizik R1 with carbon rails (old one creaked).

Sadly doesn't get ridden much due to time constraints with child and a C59 which is the first choice. The wheels from the top post were sold and I swap the Zipps between the two with Zondas for mountains.

Yep. Seen a couple of others in the flesh but this is the old 08/09 version so not that many around.

agree - a friend had one and they were under the radar cool. brilliant to rise, nice and stiff, light.

they were as good as anything twice the price the clubbies would buy and then go on about bikes from Halfords little realising their mate at the LBS was equally as hit and miss and the 5 minutes it took to sort any indexing issues out was far outweighed by the massive money saving, excellent carbon frames and below the radar coolness.

i remember the same ones as mine coming with dura ace shifters and mechs, carbon cranks and brakes, ritchey wcs saddle, seat post, stem, bars and wheels, full - inc carbon steerer - carbon for for something like £799 dropping down to £600 with all the discounts available.

Man, those pics make me miss my old Boardman Road Team (same as yours in the cool "ti" colourway, but without the carbon rear triangle). Was my first road bike, and (stupidly) sold it on in order to go carbon. Should have kept it and stuck deep carbons on it instead. Looks great on those deep rims. 8)
Titus Silk Road Ti rigid 29er - Scott Solace 10 disc - Kinesis Crosslight Pro6 disc - Scott CR1 SL - Pinnacle Arkose X 650b - Pinnacle Arkose singlespeed - Specialized Singlecross...& an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4 string...

    thankyou very much!

they are old but the geometry is so nice to ride (as in all day serious distance comfy) and as standard were nice and light - mine has carbon bars, carbon stem, a Selle Italia Zero full carbon saddle (80g), EC90 full carbon seat post with the carbon head (200g), carbon shifter, carbon brakes, Massi carbon cages, - comes in at 7kg when it doesn't have the mahoosife casette on the back and phat deep rims. Even now its sub 7.8 which isn't bad for something that cost me nothing.

its all the different shaped tubing i like.

Any chance you can get another?

Always pop up on eBay as people are a snob about them and must 'upgrade'.

The no nonsense beefy tube shapes are lovely.

Good to see the older Boardmans still going strong.
My old Team Comp has been sitting gathering dust, so have decided to make a project out of it, strip it down and have a go at painting it myself with a purple/blue/green chameleon finish.
Such a fun bike to ride, it'll make a perfect second bike for me for the days I don't want to take the Tarmac out and hopefully i'll be able to do it justice with a makeover.....ill post pics if the outcome is successful!

Hence the Boardman doesn't get a lot of action!

Even slammed it's not that low to be honest.
  • Man, these pics make me feel sad that it's the evening and I'm at home instead of being on my bicycle in a cool place, I shouldn't have come to this thread :D great job, keep going like that!

A autumn ride to the Lion's Mound, Waterloo.
The ride began with rain and featured alot of cobbles and 2 dirtroads, but tailwind at the way back!
