    No. TV.

I would settle for a feed with race radio.

I would have thought that a man of your wealth could easily have forked out an extra £19-99, to get last week's offer.
That was a steal for the benefit of Dutch commentary, the convenience of no ad breaks and the sheer joy of no Kirby.
I need to cancel the existing tv package before I do that tbf. That is really what I should do.
It was £20 for the whole year.

Actually, it's still £20 for a whole year. Offer runs out on 13th June.

Definitely worth a punt for that price, the only frustration is you need to setup new e-mail addresses to take advantage of the offers, unless you message them to get them to purge your old ones, but sometimes that can take an age for them to do.

The best deal for ES player was one black friday when it was £1.99 for 12 months!

I'm not sure whether to take out another ES player sub when my current one expires, or stick with GCN+
The documentaries I have seen I really like, and I think my partner and even my daughter might do as well.
I like the idea of being able to watch other sports, but the reality is I simply don't have the free time.

My GCN+ expires in early August (Before the Vuelta), but my ES player sub keeps going until late November, so that will see me through to the end of the season.

Will probably let both lapse and just keep an eye out for the next GCN+ discounted offer, likely need a new address though.

I used the same account I had a couple of years ago, and got it for £20 last week. I think you just can't have overlapping subs.

I'll find out later this month. I did the cancel current June to June, get new annual £20 deal thing end of November. Same a/c details. My confirmation email from then says next payment date is end of this month and amount is £19.99. I did see the card transaction show as pending back in November but was not processed. ES Player has worked fine for me through this year. So far.

Notice the great Rob Hatch never mentioned Christophe Laporte once in today's sprint not even when he came past Julian.

I watched without commentary, but I assume he was concentrating on the freak who'd just made him look like his brakes were jammed on.

    He did.
You mustn't have missed his name, because Hatch didn't say it twice.
Carlton would have called it as Viviani.

More likely to insist it was Bouhanni.

On Viviani's current form there wouldn't have been a Cofidis jersey in the picture!

Can I add that the chap doing the Tour of Slovenia was an easy listen. Quite enjoyed his commentary, didn't catch his name.

There's a kind of beautiful symmetry to the debate as Jez is currently telling viewers that he's been getting slated on Twitter for his rubbish pronunciation of Slovenian rider names. B)

On the subject of pronunciation, according to the voice recognition on my Sky remote, I pronounce the TV channel "You're a Sport"

To be fair he went out of his way yesterday to apologise for any mispronunciation and encouraged people to put him right.

Nice bit of humility I thought.

A message giving him guidance would be far more productive than the people slating him but I guess that is the world we live in.

Hopefully it's mostly a self deprecating joke, rather than people genuinely giving him grief.

Assuming ck is THE main commentator for le tour, how happy will he be that Luke Durbridge has been picked :#

Thinking about it, if ITV4 are having extensive coverage, I may switch across to them, though of course that means adverts.....

Unless I could get both to run in sync, and then mute es and have ITV turned up for commentary and just mute the adverts, that could work.

I watched on ITV4 but today's sort of stage is one of the rare examples where Kirby's style would work

I went back to Eurosport once ITV went to ads and rewound to compare. Thought Kirby did all right - a bit like the MvdP win, he wasn't afraid to let a bit of genuine emotion in afterwards, which the story demands.

As for calling the finish, he's generally better when a) he recognises most of the riders involved and b) doesn't have time to think, so today was suited to him. He didn't really do much different to Boulting during the run in, was my initial impression.

I think someone's had a word. He's had his moments but but hasn't been anything like as bad as usual. I'd go as far as to say he did a decent job at the end today, his screaming wasn't so out of context. He also didn't get too worked up about the roundabouts coming into the finish. He even called the winner correctly

Possibly rotating the commentators through is helping? Kirby's "no dead air" philosophy works a lot better if he's only doing an hour at a time.

Agreed, it's not death by poor puns then, a bit like pun intervals, where you get some respite before enduring the pain again until you get through to the rest period again.

Ned's commentary is starting to suffer from the desire to add layer upon layer of significance to everything

It led him into a 'Cav tells history...' line he couldn't find the words to complete. Kirkby did a much better job on this stage finish

I have to be honest, not having listened to Boulting for a while, maybe I've been spoiled by Hatch, Blythe Lloyd, Kelly etc, but it wasn't anything like as good as I recalled it to be.

Millar is still good and inciteful, with his dry humour, but I don't think he had much to say on the actual sprint finish.

Much as it pains me to agree, between the two, ck did a better job :#
