Definitely a lot of strikelists on the road last night. CS8 was as busy as the height of summer.

I'm really concerned about how busy things are going to get after tit Monday.

  • Well I did suggest we hit this yesterday over on the SCR thread. I would say yes (despite my first comment on this thread) I think infrastructure, work facilities, a mild/dry Jan and over crowding on PT has shifted this even forwards by about three months.

So goodbye Noddergeddon, or do we not fully understand what chaos is due in three months time!

Is there a train strike? Or just the first wet day since Christmas and people are using the jackets Santa bought them. A bit early for the true summer migration.

I love that this thread has popped up after so long. It was started in 2014!

I wouldn't say it was "wet".. more like slightly damp...

    I love this thread too...

Yep, I've now seen two other cyclists already this year on just 3 commuting rides, which pretty much counts for noddergeddon round here.

I saw 20 yesterday give or take, today back to normal, 1 and bare in mind this is 11 miles though outer London a lot on bike paths/shared use etc. And who I do see is man on a bike, rather than Ralpha/strava man, only time I get loads of strava Flybys is if they are racing on Hillingdon which is on route!

I'm there abouts as well - not sure if it's because I'm on the bike slightly earlier, or because more are cycling though...
Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

I would say no, I think your nodder has been relaively hardy through the winter months so we have seen quite good numbers (See TFL Cycle flows data: http://data.london.gov.uk/datafiles/tra ... s-tlrn.xls) but I think the normal nodder sees it as cold and threatening, I would say we have about two weeks to go before the main field of nodders arrive.

I think a confusing factor has been the reinforcing of 'Allez Man' this year, for whatever reason Evans has been churning out sub £1k bikes to choppers at the rate of one a second, thus ballooning the field of hockey sock wearing idiots incapable of shoulder checking or riding in a straight line. These Jonno's and Charlies, being more akin to the Rugby field to an A road, are far less phased with a bit of rain and see the full befefit of still being able to listen to their Ipods while having the added advantage of getting to roll out their 'Loughborough University Ireland Hockey Tour 2004' Jersey five days a week.

As a footnot I would point out we definitely have not hit tit monday yet in terms of temperature which normally coincides with Noddergeddon.

    Gold!

FYI the link has moved here and covers up to 2016

Has anyone got any 2017/18 data? Maybe from an automatic rugby sock counter?

I think they quote another count in a report I read a while ago but I have e-mailed them as they have responded previously when they don't bother updating it for months.

They're like other types of zombies, they'll end up taking over the World.

From time to time someone heroic will come along and despatch a load of them, possibly with assistance from the US military; they'll always miss a few, though, to retain the possibility of a sequel.

Ha - we should have a 'am I a nodder' quiz on here. If you answer 'yes' to 2 or more questions you should report to the mods for your hockey socks.

Don't worry, if you can endure the next few days, they will vanish come the weekend... Temps falling close to freezing again overnight and risk of snow again in the south!

I have a couple of polo shirts that I have ridden commuting. Both are cycling specific/related, one is a wiggle/Honda team polo.
