Thanks for the reminder about Pinot's stage win. As for the others, that YMCA celebration needs work.

Watching Hoy's greatest triumphs on youtube makes you shiver... what a monster.
'Performance analysis and Froome not being clean was a media driven story. I haven’t heard one guy in the peloton say a negative thing about Froome, and I haven’t heard a single person in the peloton suggest Froome isn’t clean.' TSP

Nearly as good as Reg Harris who really was a monster but as a professional they couldn't ride the Olympics.

    ILJOOOOOO!

Spoke his dad about that win a couple of weeks ago. He said "Sometimes he gets results. Not enough though"

    No pleasing some folk
"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Didn't want to create a new thread and this is the best place I could find to post it. Possible one for Frenchie to back https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/54 ... hotography

Perhaps not the greatest cycling photo ever, but a good one nevertheless.

As much as I love road, Hoy is just something so special - monster seems the right word. His career was astonishing.

This is one of my all time Olympic memories: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzceCYkv4xQ

Needing a PB to even get a medal and then nailing the gold - incredible.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

I very much liked this one from the Tour of Yorkshire on Friday

Taken by Ben Charles for the Cycling Podcast (why does a podcast have a photographer?)

Remember the SKY documentary with him legpressing about 200kg plus Shane Sutton sat on top of it?

I was up the bank to the left of the photo - it was a fantastic finish venue with the final KM plus visible. The leaders emerged round the bay one by one, then group after group came home, very exciting.

Anyone who thinks the TDY was a poor race should have got themselves to this spot!

May I add a couple of late ones where the event is largely remember because of the photographs.

Firstly - 1934. Rene Vietto sits on a wall having ridden back up the course (legal at the time) to give a wheel to his crashed team (and race) leader, Antoinin Magne. Rene Vietto had stood to inherit the lead himself. He's watching the race pass by in anguish waiting for the team car to arrive. Magne won the GC. Vietto was fifth. It's quite a famous photo.
