Speaking of Bettini, was he the first rider to sit up in the saddle to show off his jersey despite not winning the race? Noticed he used to do it quite regularly.0 -

Glad I stumbled on this thread. surprised at the one's missing and a mention for Joey Mcloughlin - Joey Mcloughlin?! good god. How about a shot of Elliot or Deno Davie.
Couldn't find that hunched up side on shot of Sid Barras but here he is:
The rest of my little contribution:

No not really. I love the old shots of Anquetil, Coppi, Bartali etc. I hate TTing but admire those who can.
The Franco Belerini/Diclos-Lassalle picture told a story as did Roche collapsing on la Plagne after that epic chase to Delgado. The Ridiculous TT bike is interesting but I couldn't find a particualr shot showing Moser during his successful attempt at the hour. Moser looked so classy on a bike unlike Charley Mottet ! The Roche picture was actually at the Giro not his TT to win the Tdf - something as a kid i didn't know as I had the poster on the wall.
Museeuw pointing at his knee told a story too.
Couldn't find the picture of Hinault attacking to win the worlds one year - anyone help? His expression of sheer determination/pain/focus is excellent.

THAT is a great shot. I remember it well, too - I thought he was dead at first, he didn't move for ages! It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0 -
In the light of the above:
1952 Tdf, can anyone name the blokes in this shot? (Not a quiz, I just don't know)
