Sort of, but trying to sue Bauer for $1.5m a racing incident is a bit poo.
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

He shouldn't have tried to go up the inside, between Bauer and the barriers. He can moan, bitch and sue all he likes, but the error in judgement he made was the main contributor to the crash.

That’s harsh on Cri-cri. The space was tight, but getting past was do-able if Bauer had better kept his line and, more particularly, not brought his elbow out as Criquelion drew level.
Bauer wouldn’t have won anyway – he was finished by then. But his action deprived us of seeing whether Fondriest would have caught Criquelion.
The court case was stupid of Criquelion, though.

    roubaix_Jules-Vanhevel.jpg

Here's a couple of cool images from the 1924 Paris Roubaix race that PEZ contributing photographer Patrick Verhoest sent in. Patrick explained the story behind them, "90 years ago , Jules Vanhevel – a guy from Ichtegem-city (where I work) – won Paris Roubaix! I know the family well and recently the whole collection from Jules was donated to the cycling museum here in Roeselare. In the collection there are fantastic pictures from Jules' cycling career, Jules was professional from 1919 till 1936. I made reproductions from those pics and here are two from the 1924 Paris Roubaix where Jules triumphed!"

  • Don't think that's from '88. Systeme U were riding Gitane, switched to Raleigh in '89.

Would have been a very exciting one day rider were it not for the cancer.

    Was already tbh.

I miss the days of all round riders. I guess Evans is about the only one of the current era.

Totally agree. Nibali would be up there too if he didn't have pesky GTs to distract him.
