but dont they control the temperature, when I saw them talking earlier it sounded like they thought it might not be warm enough, I know 28C was a figure they were aiming for, or was that just an expected increase in fatigue near the end because of the conditions and theres not alot you can do about it.0 -

Well done Wiggo. Great ride. It was fabulous to be there.
Wiggo should do it again after Rio even if he still has the record. Easy for me to say though. You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -

Just got home from it
Wow. He was like a metronome. Incredible to watch and looked really powerful.
The heat in there was nuts. They said 28c shortly before it started and it got hotter for sure.
Plus I got my pic taken with Big Mig.Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.0 -
An incredible ride by one of the all-time greats.

I can't believe the heat inside was beneficial to the attempt. I must have lost around 2 kilos of sweat just queueing for a beer. As we entered the velodrome the stewards were desperate to keep the doors closed so they could ramp the heat up.
They warned us it was going to be 28 degrees, but it was more like 35 were we were seated.0 -
Wiggins: " Not even the great Lance Armstrong.....". Well that's one word for him.0

Well done Brad, fantastic achievement. The lad done good.'Performance analysis and Froome not being clean was a media driven story. I haven’t heard one guy in the peloton say a negative thing about Froome, and I haven’t heard a single person in the peloton suggest Froome isn’t clean.' TSP0

Hutch saying he doesn't think the record will last a year.
I'm not so sure, it will still take an exceptional tester on an exceptional day with access to the very best preparation and equipment to beat that. Factor in finding a gap in busy schedules and a high possibility of failure and I don't think it is such an attractive proposition.0 -
Is it just me that finds Hutch bitter and negative?
Maybe I'm missing an irony or dry humour?2020/2021/2022 Metric Century Challenge Winner0 -
Indurain;
“Wiggins in now in the club. He’s won a Tour and now the Hour Record but don’t forget he has won a lot of other races and he has the huge success from the Olympics. He’s a champion. Everyone has their ideas of what a legend is but Bradley is one of them.”0 -

There's no arguing with that really, is there?
I'm not his greatest fan but there's no getting away from what an awesome effort that was. Hat.It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0 -
I took a wander over to The Clinic this morning to see how they're taking it.
Apparently the entire effort was a calculated affront to regular posters on the clinic."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Apologies if this has been covered, but how much of a real advantage did Boardman's 96 bike give him over what Wiggins rode yesterday?0

Did he say 18 people, or am I misremembering that? Presumably they ran off a bunch of those jerseys for sponsors, VIPs etc?0

They're getting lazy.
Now they're judging riders based on the guestlist at their event (which Wiggo probably had very little to do with), rather than 'calculating' power output and claiming super-human efforts.0
