Next Sunday 4th January is the 4th and final Soudal Classics with the National Championships a week later 11th Jan and the World Championship on Sunday 1st February 2015Organiser, National Championship 50 mile Time Trial 19720 -
Just a head's up for next week's UK champs.
S4C are going to be covering the men's race live on Sunday afternoon.
So most folks should be able to watch it on their tv, even if the commentary will be as incomprehensible as Sporza's."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
Not sure if they'll do it for this, but they've done English commentary on the red button for Wrexham matches in the past0
-
Doubt they'll do red button commentary on this, I'm not sure where they'll get a Welsh language commentator from with the right knowledge even but great that they are showing it. I was helping with preliminary course preparation yesterday and it was seriously wet at the bottom end of the course. With a similar course set up to last year's National Trophy round (loads of off camber corners) and stormy weather forecast for later in the week I suspect it will be carnage by the end of the weekend (worse than that trophy race last year).0
-
Looking at their schedules, it doesn't appear to be the whole race, either.

The former Junior Road World Champion & Double Junior Cyclo X World Champion Mathieu van der Poel, won the Soudal Cyclocross in Leuven. The Dutch 19-year-old rode a tactically strong race and finished solo at the Belgian military base with his first race on his new Stevens bike. His older brother finished 16th.
Tom Meeusen won the sprint for second place ahead of Kevin Pauwels and a disappointed Laurens Sweeck.
Belgian champion Sven Nys could only finish 12th.

TV Coverage of National Cyclocross Championships 2015.
S4C have provided us with confirmation of their plans for the racing this weekend, which is as follows:
Approximately 12.37 – 12.41 there will be a live inject into the Clwb programme, with presenters Owain Gwynedd and co-commentator Emyr Davies. During this section S4C will show 30 seconds each from the mornings races giving the results and podium shots. There will be some shots of the Under 10s racing which will be taking place at this time. The slot will end with a build up to the Elite Women’s Race, with some shots from the 33 metre hoist which will be above the pit area. (There is no live camera at the start line as we can’t get cables back to the broadcast truck, which will be above the event village)
Approximately 15.05 – 15.20 there will be live race coverage of the Elite Men’s Race with Welsh commentary until it’s conclusion, followed by interviews with the winner, confirmation of the results, plus podium shots.
Approximately 18.10 – 18.15 there will be an edited package including highlights of the day’s races.
There will be English subtitles of the cyclocross, even though it is broadcast live.
Clwb covers rugby and football matches during their programmes so the cyclocross coverage had to fit around those. S4C are sending a lot of cameras to film the racing and would love to have shown more on the day, but programming doesn’t allow.
However, all Sunday races will be showed in their entirety on the Clwb website and will be available by Wednesday January 14th. A highlights package from the Saturday races will also follow, but at a later date.
How to watch S4C:
In Wales: Sky 104, Freeview 4; Freesat 104; Virgin TV 166.
In England, Scotland and Northern Ireland: Sky 134; Freesat 120; Virgin TV 166.
Online across the UK on S4C’s website - s4c.co.uk/clic - where it is available on demand for 35 days. Viewers across the UK can watch S4C live on tvcatchup.com
Abergavenny Road Club would like to thank S4C for deciding to film the National Cyclocross Championships at considerable expense to themselves. We are thrilled that they will be filming all the races, but Sunday in particular where they will be filming with up to 7 cameras out on the course.
This is a new venture for S4C and we hope people appreciate the lengths they are going to film the racing so please take advantage of the online coverage when it becomes available. The more people who view the races, the more chance that S4C will cover cyclocross again.

Carnage across the pond at the moment... It seems they have cancelled the US champs as the organisers have only just twigged that a CX race and rain = mud. Bless.0 -

Fortunately, I managed to find a stream. And what a race - well deserved win for Ferrand-Prevot; adds the CX Title to her road win, and takes both of them off her Liv team mate Vos.
I know its a smaller pool of talent, but I do like riders who can multi discipline. And a shame that Stybar hasnt tried to defend his Title. All Road/ Gravel: tbcWinter: tbcMTB: tbcRoad: tbc"Look at the time...." "he's fallen like an old lady on a cruise ship..."0 -
