Now, about that Catalan flag, no clue.

Seems to be going quite nicely, growing every year here and in the states, practically the national winter sport in Belgium... Just hope there's some grassroot racing out there for me next winter!

Still the people with the banner that read "Een eikel altijd een eikel" raised a giggle in this house. I just want to know who it was aimed at?
It's what Paul Herijgers, Sporza co-commentator and former world champ, said a couple of days ago about Mario de Clerq, also former cross world champ. De Clerq is now DS of a cross team and had publicly suggested all other Belgian riders to ride against Nys together, in the hope that one of his guys would get the win. Herijgers and De Clerq had their disagreements in their time, hence the 'eens een eikel altijd een eikel'

Ah ha! I knew someone would know the answer. :D

  • Compton suffered an asthma attack according to CX Magazine.

That explains why she popped having worked so hard to get back on.

There's some debate about this but cycling-cross is not cycling! It's duathlon. Nevertheless, well done to Zebedee Sidebar! New world champ!

Don't know why but that really made me giggle...

Oh boy!!! FML. Someone filleted my left calf the first lap. Anyone want to guess the # of stitches to close it? I'm going for 50

Amazingly he still finished the race!
It looks very clean for a chainring, but wrong side for a disc rotor..... :?
  • Nice photos TWH.

I thought this hop from Nys was really cool after Stybar really pushed it through the corner:

I assumed it wasn't his disc from what he said in the tweet....
    Rotors are on the LHS....
  • I love how the only quote in that article is from Cancellara from years ago and takes up half of the copy.

  • From the CN piece, you'd think the UCI had only started checking the bikes since DiLuca's guff. As usual, sub-standard stuff from CN.

Last year's Alpe D'Huez stage, anyone?
  • Amusing aside, Stybar's tubs all had WC stripes on them, as did his frame... UCI insisted they all be covered over with a black marker before the start.

I could do with some mechanical doping to keep up with the quick guys on the club run :-)

Most effective mechanical doping for me would be to be towed

About riders combining cross and the road, this is another one I wouldn't mind seeing in a few top crosses; would be really interesting to see what he could do now:

    Taken from twitter

@ryantrebon: Surprisingly only 13 stitches to close that bad boy up. And by the way it was a chainring not a disc rotor that did it.
