  • Are we going to get any cross windy sections? I'm looking at the map and trying to figure out what days I will have to have the ECHELONS!!!!!!! siren ready.
    Correlation is not causation.
  • Just seen on my facebook that the route of stage 1 is going to be signposted, no idea of when the signs will go up.
  • 9 sections of cobbles totaling 15.4km on stage 5 apparently. Starting in Ypres to commemorate First World War. And just so you're all up to date on your history before then, here's a handy guide...

Decent route. Will have to wait to see the profiles to see how the stages end though. I would wish they put a stage one of these days along the West coast and so there can be some serious wind damage.

This translator is doing a great job. The Yorkshire man did a good job too speaking in French. According to him, Yorkshire was the birthplace of British sport as well as modern art. I addition he also mentioned that Yorkshire would have finished 11th in the Olympic medal table.

9 classified climbs on stage 2 including "Cote de Holme Moss", looks like Cragg Vale isn't classified though. :)

6 mountain top finishes is more than in recent years isn't it? The last two mountain stages in the Pyrenees look like they could be great if the GC is still up for grabs then, not sure whether the subsequent time trial will help or hinder the racing though.
  • I think having the traditional time trial on the last day of racing does damage things somewhat. IMO the last TT should be inbetween the Alps and Pyrenees, meaning the final mountain top finishes really count.
  • We have had the final climb after the timetrial last year and in 2009 up the Ventoux. I think that Prudhomme has mixed things up well over the last 5 years and he is clearly varying how the Tour will be played out - note again the lack of a prologue. It is all racing at the end of the day and different stages will favour different riders - surely that is the point on a Grand Tour.
If I can feel the pain in my arse, I mustn't be hurting my legs enough.

Looks the best bet, although it isn't going into the Camargue proper.

This is just the top half. Badly fitted, old man colour, unmatching tie, not suitable for this type of event.

I will post a pic with the bottom half later. It would be too much all at once. He is wearing trainers.

My husband had a tie like that, unfortunately it got 'lost' when we moved house.

As for Froome it looks like he's going for the 'Out of Africa' look.

Has Nibs ever seen a cobble? And no white dusty gravel does not count.

Can't Bertie manage to do his tie up properly? Poor show and a lack of class.

So 2015 will hit the west coast of France big time then?

Although not as demanding, "Cote de Blubberhouses" is a memorable name.

If it splits on the Carrefour, the time gaps could be monumental

3.7km to split the pack with 15km to go...

I suspect Messers Boonen, Cancellara and Stannard have just cleared their diaries for July...(and likewise Uran, Schleck and Froome have written "be extra nice to everyone this spring" in theirs)
We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence
