Looking to change the Fork from 100mm, to either a 130mm Sektor or Pike or Rev.

From what I see, it's a ec34 headset you have there, if correct, there is no way you can fit a Pike, maybe a rev if you find a straight steerer version, definently a sektor as there are a few out there wanted to be bought and abused

  • It is indeed a 1 1/8th steerer. A sektor was the first choice as they seem more popular used, and in 130mm as 140mm, even spaced down maybe altering it too much. 100mm at the moment just doesnt feel enough and seems to make the nose feel like its too low. Need to play around with the handle bar postion. But a longer fork is a possibilty in the future.

Any comments on the Truvativ stem?

Ive not really put it to much test, only tame woods and stainburn, but seems fine with no flex and felt reasonably light.

There's a Truvativ AKA on my Mmmbop a couple of pages back. I've had it on various bikes over the years and it's done the job.

    that is eye watering!!!
    Brand ? Cost?
By custom you mean, you got to choose H/T, S/T angles T/T length etc?

wellcome to the club by the way....

Yes, by custom I mean no brand, I started it all with a bunch of cad drawing.
My best friend own a bike shop and assembled it for me once the frame was ready... well, He assembled two, one for him and one for me, same frame and wheels, different fork and other details.
These photos are from September, now it's in a more winter style, with saint pedals, a different stem, only one carbon bottle cage and a mudguard from azonic.
A very entertaining bike, I enjoy it a lot!

By the looks of where your saddle sits on its rails your custom build is too short in the top tube......

Truvativ AKA stem on my Bronson for the people inquiring and its solid, inexpensive and decent looking.

Your friend did the welding or you had the CAD drawings sent to a frame builder?

My kid's too small to ride it (he's only 13 months) but he got so excited when it emerged from the box, all 'helping' me put it together and spinning the wheels while it's upside-down. Hopefully he's grown enough by summer and we can go do some gnarly trails :)

Yeah, back when they announced it and I said I'd have to get a matching one they asked me to send pics. Nice company to deal with, I like 'em. I just need the kid to grow a bit bigger so we can go shred some gnar and get action shots now, he still can't quite reach the floor from that saddle (or the bar grips even with them angled back, now I think of it). Time to start the feeding programme!
  • Loved the PP Shan for years and is the only other HT I'd swap my beloved for. Like the green but orange and Blue/orange are the best schemes - the little one's bike is also cool.

Yeah, I was gutted I couldn't get the 917 colours, so opted for an MV I could find. Took a look at the new Green and Silver and Black 650b frames, and wasn't too taken on the colours, and couldn't wait until December!! :)

  • Yeah the new colours arent quite as cool, i'd say.

And if I get away to Bude or that part of Cornwall again this year, I'll give you a shout to show me some local trails. I often see bits which look good but have never brought the bike down :D

Some excellent bikes and tbh if i was too choose a favourite out of all these bikes on here then i'd have to pick one on size but i'd still be struggling to make a final choice  ..
