Sorry JSCL, possibly just some unfortunate lighting there. Interesting photo there though. Seems like the manufacturers all have a bike they can offer with discs. I rode a bike with road discs tonight and there does seem to be a bit more feel and modulation but with the rumours the UCI are going to lower the weight limit I wonder where discs fit in with that as at the moment they are heavier than caliper brakes.0

Note the power meter

Don't SKY repeatedly say that they don't actually have power data on screen as it doesn't help?
They're sponsored by STAGES so it makes sense to have it written there and I would guess TT data is pretty useful?
Sometimes, Frenchie, one does wonder....0 -

The fact that it has Stages written on it would suggest otherwise.0 -

I don't think you should make statements like this - how do you know he wasn't having a really bad day ....or he found you annoying !
It biases peoples opinions and is based on your one brief encounter0 -

You mean that if I put a stages sticker on my garmin 500, it gives me power data?Red bikes are the fastest.0 -

Worth a try......0 -
The funny thing is, if some people are so convinced that Sky are such evil powermeter led robots, I would have thought they'd want to use a more accurate power meter than Stages - that Stages themselves state as having "±2% accuracy of strain gage measured power".
(This is not me defending Sky, I don't have favourite teams, wall posters and team duvet sets).0 -
It has nothing to do with Sky using powermeters. It has more to do with it being a little silly them promoting garmin when they are not sponsored by them. They use a garmin headunit as stages dont do one themselves.Contador is the Greatest0

No problem, you won't have to mention Sky and Powermeters this season then
Well, what other head unit should they use then? Plus, they're using it, not promoting it. I'm just off to take the badges off everything I own.0 -
How is that promoting them?
What do you suggest they do instead, for additional marginal gainzzzzzzz0 -

So....exactly the same as Contador promoting Lightweight, by riding their disc wheel. Ergo, Contador and his team are silly.
Thanks for clearing that up FF.0 -
No it's different because Sky are robots who can't react to a change in a race situation when the Sky train gets de-railed and are the highest paid robots in the peloton.0
-
Well it would be if it wasnt rebranded. Contador doesnt go around with lightweight written on his wheels.
You two got anything interesting to post to this thread or you just popping in to talk BS then leaving?Contador is the Greatest0 -
If anyone could show me a 2014 pic of a decent TTer or GT rider TTing without a powermeter I ll declare them king of the world
Seriously how many times do we have to have this ridiculous conversation... :roll:We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Dont believe I have made mention of it this season. There is no need. They have other problems to worry about although maybe their poor performances can be put down to mis calibration of the new powermeters resulting in poor racing plus fatigued and crooked riders?
They could black it out.Contador is the Greatest0 -

What conversation are we having? About powermeters usage? Better go and read again. This is a pro gear thread FYI.Contador is the Greatest0 -

It's so funny how you make yourself look stupid. http://macmuiris.com/image/79993312516
See that image - yes, the one of Contador riding a Lightweight disc which has been rebranded as a Zipp!
May be it's time for you to stop talking BS.0
