Excuse my ignorance, what am I looking at here - campag battery unit and electronic thumb shifters ?

Electronic thumbshifters definitely, not sure about it having a battery, looks like a bit of chopped up tribar extension fixed to the bars with the thumbshifters fixed at either end. It's presumably because Campag don't do EPS sprint buttons.

    Looks like that to me.

It does look horrendous, but its not like Shimano's cable-tied on solution is the most elegant thing in the world

Yeah, I think in this one specific case Campagnolo is much less elegant than Shimano. Sprint shifters are much nicer.

Someone said Europcar were on discs yesterday? Must only have been on a few bikes.

Whoever said that was wrong. Discs aren't sanctioned for road race use by the UCI.

Campagnolo really needs to get a climbing shifter, they don't have a sprint shifter because there is no need because of the length of the down shifters.

That's what I thought but sometime in the past Paris Roubaix has seen some oddball bikes so I thought it might be true. It can't be long before it happens...

I'll quote you on that in 3 years time

P.S this bike has nothing to do with discs, just a 2014 team Saxo bike ;-)

oh yeah, I mean in terms of having the biek on the car/stand at the biggest race of the year. I'm an MTBer and have half a brain so I'm very much pro disc!

They look horrible on road bikes but I think it's inevitable. I would never go back to V's on my MTB, it's like going back in time!

Wonder if Shimano do sandpaper as well?

    I don't believe it:

Een uit de hand gelopen grap, zo omschrijft cartoonist Jeroom zijn jongste project.

It's a toy car/publicity stunt gone badly wrong. Surely?

Jeroom, the cartoonist, is a friend of Tom and they race fast cars on the race track near Spa together. Jeroom thought Tom's car - that only really stays on the race track and is not driven on public roads - looks a bit boring compared to his bike, so Tom let him have his way.

More money than sense, I say.

For the love of all that is holy! Belgians, they really don't do themselves any favours.

The car should have its own special weekly spot in my soon to launch Eurotrash Cycling Project.

I take it David Millar won't be asking Jeroom the cartoonist to design him a special pair of shoes.
    Correlation is not causation.

Jerome the Cartoonist needs to be locked up by the Belgian Police for crimes against humanity! He hasn't even got Boonen's donkey on there!

It's a Ferrari. What makes you think it showed class and taste in the first place?
