Just a posh seat clamp basically...
Ah, now I see it. Haven't these been around for a while?
The tidiest solution IMO is what BMC do/did with tightening the seat post by an "angle lock" near the top of the postRed bikes are the fastest.0 -

Here you go FF, a post you made about Contador being on a LW
Also you're really more stupid than I thought if you think there is some fraud going on here, Stages will know, Garmin will know. Garmin wouldn't be a title sponsor of a rival pro team. It's outsourcing on the part of Sky and Stages. Simple business. :roll:0 -
Come on lets see you ridicule OPQS...0 -
I was reading the last few pages of this thread and thought, Frenchie's going to get presented with an OPQS pic any minute now...
Its well known that the various non-GRS teams using Garmin headsets, cover up the Garmin name0 -
I think you are missing the point a little bit... there is no denying that Contador is riding a Lightweight wheel - but he has at least gone to the trouble of masking the branding a little with the Zipp logos.
The Sky picture is only really an issue because Garmin happen to be the title sponsor of another team. So maybe a bit of black tape over the logo would have been a good idea.
That said, there are many other teams riding groupsets, wheels, saddles, bars, computers etc that they have bought in (i.e. not been sponsored to use) - should all of these logos always be obscured too?0 -

But you are missing the point, they aren't trying to hide it. There will be some tie somewhere.0 -
mfin wrote:The funny thing is, if some people are so convinced that Sky are such evil powermeter led robots, I would have thought they'd want to use a more accurate power meter than Stages - that Stages themselves state as having "±2% accuracy of strain gage measured power".
(This is not me defending Sky, I don't have favourite teams, wall posters and team duvet sets).
Betcha do
All power meters have a +/- degree of accuracy - Stages is no worse. But Stages are - apparently - more accurate when it comes to O rings. Which although Bradders has eschewed ('them silly O things'), Froome and some of the others still use.0 -
I asked Fran millar, why garmins:
Fran Millar @franmillar 18m
@stevenmclean1 no reason other than they're compatible with our new power cranks "Stages"0 -

No I don't, I don't have room for the paraphernalia as it's all taken up mainly with My Little Pony and Justin Bieber stuff.
I think Stages is less accurate, they are saying it is ±2% compared the tech in some of the other systems, plus of course it only measures one crank arm and then multiplies it by two (because there are two crank arms, I worked this out but it took me a while, because I couldn't see the other side of the chainset in the photo I was looking at so I assumed it didn't exist ).0 -

Here's the answer why they don't cover up Garmin on the head unit.
Fran Millar @franmillar 2h
@stevenmclean1 erm because they're Garmins? And it would be a bit churlish to cover the name, also Stages have a relationship with Garmin0 -
That's an awful lot of scratching off of logos for many mechanics not working at Giant-Shimano ... Or maybe not ...0

How much money have you spent on collecting Colnago gear?
Like any good Italian man I never kiss and tell (and if my wife read this and saw the amount, I’d probably be divorced). But let’s just say I lost count in about 2008 and I never looked back!Contador is the Greatest0 -

I am struggling to see the problem?
They dont have a cycling computer sponsor, so what difference does it make?
Its the same with their tyres (although that might have changed), they didnt used to have a tyre sponsor and bought their own, why would they need to cover up the brand?Scott Addict 2011
