It's funny that the Lampre Team manager, Brent Copeland, has been with the team for 15 years in managerial roles, yet he's still younger than Horner!

I'm fairly agnostic regarding his Vuelta win. However I wonder if there's any clawback clause in the contract if something iffy turns up afterwards. In fact I wonder if those sort of clauses are appearing in contracts generally now

    He's joined Lampre ;-)

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt now but I would have thought the sort of clause you refer to would be fairly standard in such a contract these days.

Perhaps Horner has insisted in such a clause if anything turns up on Lampre then

Is Horner v Qunitana the new Froome v Quintana if both do the Giro & the Vuelta.

Whoa. Now that's some nasty looking growth. Guy that would grow something that lame AND then appear in pubic has got to be doing drugs. At the very least mind altering ones.

Dear god, he's not that bad. At least he hasn't been caught yet for doping. Considering Mancebo is still doing his stuff in Dubai yesterday then give the guy a break. Cycling is a sport with dopers, you just got to get on with it.

I thought Mancebo was generally considered to have paid more of a price than most and probably didn't even benefit from doping, according to the doctor who doped him his haemocrit was naturally high so there wasn't scope or blood doping due to the 50% limit.

I think most Doc's on Teams post date prescriptions and try to stop riders from overdosing preventing Heart Attacks etc. I think what Team Doctors say is as compromised as Drs Conconi/Ferrari/Fuentes.
Mancebo has been riding for years in America so not done too bad really.
This webpage mentions Mancebo and Fuentes and blood bags.

He seems confident and looks good on the road. I'm quiet excited to see how he goes this year.

A week and a half ago he rode up the HC Palomar Mt just as fast as he did 20 months ago. Looking good! 8)

Darn it. I hope he's recovers OK. Any chance he might recover in time for the Vuelta ?

Less importantly than his health but the Giro field is looking increasingly thin this year.

Isn't it just a part of his training to be injuried? Look at last season... Form of his life.

Nasty crash. With his age I guess it will take him a good few months to recover.

Is he really on a low salary with an attractive bonus structure?

Much as I'm not a fan I certainly wouldn't wish that on him. I hope he recovers enough to finish his career properly.
