OK so GiggleGate was over something to do with Bauke Mollema. I wonder what...?Correlation is not causation.0

A good ride but Quintana wheelsucked Froome and Rodriguez most of the way up that climb, hope he gets classier with time.
Wish we'd seen Porte dropping Contador though...0 -

The best thing that could happen is Contador being taken off the podium, I doubt it would happen, but I will toast a beer to AC if it does and another 5 to NQ.
So where is that smug emotican?... Contador never had that podium finish. The cracks became quite apparent during alp D'Huez0 -

I expect this is another hilarious attempt by FF of being facetious and trying to wind up others. It's genuinely quite pathetic!
Nah he just doesn't believe in the concept of self determination. The monster."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

So first, second and third on the podium come from three different continents.0

This really has been an extraordinarily shoot Tour for BMC hasn't it?Correlation is not causation.0

I haven't been the greatest fan of Contador but I actually think he's doing a pretty good job of adjusting to a post-doping world. Plus the line he takes through corners on descents is fantastic (ignoring the almost-crash).0

Pathetic, really? I saw it as a light hearted joke.
Last year there were similar Wiggo related comments re Belgian & Australian anthems. No-one batted an eye then. However it's probably a case of dislike for the poster rather than dislike of the post.0 -

P.S. I'm learning that the key to interacting on here is simply to play the ball not the man.0 -

to be fair- at least wiggins grew up in england and resides here- apart from his passport of convenience does froome have any ties to the uk and has he ever lived in this country?'dont forget lads, one evertonian is worth twenty kopites'0 -
Well, I confess I went to the cinema, but Massive Congratulations to Mr Chris Froome. Great stuff! Feeling rather spiffing to be British this week!
True Champion!
Certified Heavyweight Panache!
Hero!
Racer!
Hopefully the new avatars will cheer up Mr Fighter!
(download World War Z btw, nothing like the book and pretty meh really..)We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Don't think Froome has ever lived here - I doubt he feels British and I certainly don't see him as British. Be nice for Kenya to have the anthem played.

Be interesting to see what happens at the Vuelta. J Rod, Bertie and Valverde have all had hard Tours. I think Nibs has got it sewn up this year.0 -

Its a non point he makes though, in order to raise this kind of conversation/confrontation between people who think he is British and those that don't. Its bordering on narcissistic behaviour IMO.
Who actually cares where he is from, and what does it matter?!Mañana0 -

No, not dislike, just mystified and bemused that an adult can come out with some of the posts he produces.0 -

Exactly, they can play the Klingon anthem, but it wont change the result.0 -
ASO have form- they played the Portugese/Danish/Belgium National Anthem when Contador stood on the top step.0

I thought that was a really good stage.
Felt a bit for Contador but hey, that's bike racing. I don't think he's finished though.
Froome impressive. Quintana looks like a future winner - But then we've been saying that for some time.
With guys like Talansky, Froome, Quintana, TJVG we have the next few years sorted out.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
froome helped jrod come over the top and blast contador off the podium by letting quintanas wheel go then jumping across dropping bertie out of the group"If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What we're witnessing here is the world's most high profile mid-life crisis" Afx237vi Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:43 pm0

on reflection the team prize for saxo is justice enough. they animated the race by not capitulating to sky but OTOH contador never did anything outstanding individually to earn a podium other than drive his team.
while you can argue jrod hid the whole race and waited until the third week... today he attacked first and made it stick all the way... he did all the work and got mugged but he was ok with that.
he rode a really smart and measured tour with the podium as a target. success....most of the disruption of sky by saxo was largely a team effort thus team prize to them."If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What do you think, is Quntana too small and too much of a climbing specialist to win the Tour? I think the Vuelta is nailed on for him as its always stupidly mountain heavy.0
