I know nothing is happening but am on holiday and need to time my run back to my room for the stage end. Any chance of meaningful info. Not as if its a spoiler thread or anything.

There is going to an intermediate sprint at some point relatively soon.

The breakaway has 3 mins 30. It has been around that mark for quite a while.

Nice of Europcar to arrange a clown to deliver bidons to their riders.

Typical sprint stage sean. No hope breakaway, totally flat...

Cav stuck to Sagan like glue there - impressive. Wish he'd gone over the line first obviously...

No rules about straight sprinting this year then.

Crazy isn't it? They cover like three time the distance as if they'd gone in a straight line!

The Kimmage interview with Dan Martin and family was quite heavy on the elder generation's antipathy to each other.

I imagine PK rather enjoyed that side of it.

It seems to me that Stephen is often very hard on Nicolas...always with the lines "he will learn, he will improve etc" I read somewhere on an old thread that he was particularly hard on Nicolas whilst commentating during the Tour on British Eurosport some years back and whoever was co-commentating had to interject "he is your son!" or something like that

How is this peloton going to rescue this stage? It's been a crazy tour. Here's hoping wind in the final provokes shenanigans.

Alas no, I suspect he's ironing his lilac shirt for the podium presentation later. It was a very nicely mowed lawn though I will say.

I have no idea, I want to know what 'Cheske Flange' (spelling?) is and what it has to do with the Tour of Poland?

Interesting stage this isn't it. :D

Yes. Only 2 mics and more importantly 2 seats in the booth.

Are Sky pulling for sprinter's teams in return for future stage favours? Or are they just nice guys?

    "sigh"

the yellow jersey team ride as hard enough to make the stage winnable so the sprinters take over late-earlier depending on the time gap from the jersey to the riders in the break on GC

Why be such a dick? Maybe its someone trying to learn about the sport.

So am I right in thinking that the most spectacularly interesting thing about today's stage is that there's a Cofidis rider in the break? Though to be fair, that's so unusual that I'd expect it to be a talking point until we hit the Alps.

I quite liked the sweeping shot of the river/mudflats/eastuary. Very nice.

Tour of Poland, here's the thing..... I get a Grand tour visiting another country for the Grand Depart, I also get the dipping in to another country mid tour if logistics mean it has to happen. But why the hell is the Tour of Poland starting in the Dolomites?

Yes it's a beautiful part of the world, but it's not Poland, it's Italy - somewhere that does very well when it comes to hosting their own races on their own patch. They have one week every year to showcase Poland to the cycling world as part of the TdF hangover, so why go to Italy?
