Dan Martin has a good sprint. Fug is decent also though. Close call.

Great win from Dan Martin. Sean Kelly called it right regarding that last corner.

You have to hand it to Garmin and Vaughters, they do come to races to actually race and not just make up the numbers. Always animating.

Great win by Martin, very happy. They did very well to hang on with that long open descent.

Well that promised to be the best stage for years but ultimately an anti-climax although I'm chuffed to bits for Dan :)

I can only assume that Bertie and Valv didn't have the legs to make all that early work count. Nice to see Andy in the big boys group and Kwiatowski too.

Chapeau to Chris Froome! Surely he's silenced some of his doubters now?

I think he got a bit emotional at LBL as he went very quiet indeed. I imagine a single manly tear rolling down his cheek

Froome's going to be exhausted through nerves. Which I think is what one of the ex-winners said would be his undoing.

    Good racing.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.

Well done Martin! Hard to tell if the others made a mess of it or just didn't have the legs but either way Froome withstood a stern test today. Be some tough conversations on the Sky bus tonight.

    What an almost brilliant stage.
Fantastic for Dan. So glad Garmin got the win, as they made the stage.
Can't help but think Movistar blew it. Incredibly calm final 80km or so.
One (?) attack from Valverde on the flat. None from Contador.
A group of 22+ should not have been cresting that final climb together.
    Utterly magnificent from Froome.

Well, 1km actually as absolutely any rider in that position would have done.

Too true. The contrast with Saxo today was very telling.

Could indeed be or it could be the making of him. Realising he can do it without his comfort blankets.

Absolutely. The mental aspect is always underrated.

I thought he did pretty well today given he didn't have his mates for company. Would have liked to see Kreuziger and Quintana put him under more pressure today on Val-Louren although it was a little too far out and with such a long descent it was always going to be hard.
