slightly despondent after yesterday. The Lantern rouge and mountains seem to be the only jerseys left to fight for.

Read somewhere that Kennaugh crashed earlier on apparently.

He did, he got shunted off the road and slid down the side of the mountain. He emerged from a bush, jersey and shorts torn.

This really is nail biting stuff.

Hows that working out for you?

    :D:D:D:D

I suppose you'd like to comment on how well the Spanish and Movistar riders have recovered so quickly or how Spanish cycling is strangling the sport?

    No? Thought not...

What happened to the forum ? Brought down by the weight of anti-Sky feeling posted yesterday ?

How hot is it in the South of France ?? Just been for a short ride and it is HOT in Yorkshire

Its carnage out there (as well as in this forum).

Five off the front including Rolland. Froome in a group following 55 secs behind, but has no Sky riders with him. He is a group with Movistar and Saxo-Tinkoff. Sky regrouping behind and trying to chase back, but it looks like a very lonely day for him.

Kennaugh was nudged earlier by a Lampre rider and edged up in a hedge!

On a climb like this in this heat a 1 min gap equates to about 400–500 metres. It will get bigger if they don't close it significantly before the Valverde group goes over the top, as it is a fast relatively easy descent.

Riders have bad day after absolutely drilling it the day before?

    It's like the 80s!

Froome's probably sh*tt*ng himself... he's going to explode on the team bus later if he loses the jersey today.

What do you think a Froomedog explosion would be like?

I went for a big ride this morning. Got a bit dehydrated. Combine that with the adrenalin this stage is producing and my tummy isn't feeling too good!

Not the best day for BR to go down like Wiggins on a descent...

I can tell you from personal experience that the rock at the top of the Peyresourde is a fore reef slope with coral fragments - shallow marine limestone basically

Explain how that got up there if the earth is only 6000 years old!

Well, if the stories about him selecting the team are true, he only really has himself to blame.

Really wondering what I was thinking when I booked a train for 3pm today.

I think Froome is going to win himself some admirers today.

Fair warning, If Froome wins this I am going to explode!!!

Anyone notice the absolute nutter on from the lead group on the descent? Millimetres off taking someone else out. Who was it?

It doesn't 'look' good for Froome/SKY ... but the reality is that Froome just has to mark AC (as the others can't TT), who in turn has to not let Valv get too far up the road ... They all have to get themselves and their bike over the course so it's not the disaster it is being built up as (especially as they all shot their bolt over the first 2 climbs) ...

Great ride by Kennaugh, he looks in a bit of the mess but is slowly closing with Porte. Sky paying the price for effectively only having 4 strong riders which left 3 of them going too deep yesterday? Odd how many Movistar are there today, maybe their plan was for much of the team to go easy yesterday and target today? Only just got back from a ride, how many climbs left?
