Heard today at San Sebastian there were reputedly talks between Movistar and Chavanel and his OPQS mate Pineau.

Petacchi has joined OPQS today. Official, from their Facebook account.
More good news for Cav ;-)
  • Oooh its official start date today for signing announcements...

Westra and Pellizotti off to join Vino at Astana

    EDIT:

Astana's a member of the MPCC. One of the MPCC rules/policies:

    - to not sign up a rider who has a suspension of more than six months [with the exception of whereabouts cases] for a period of two years after the suspension.

So...how can they be signing Pellizotti who served a 2 year ban and only returned May 2012...?

    Let's see how this works

This isn't the first time that Astana have messed up a signing I think - Wasn't it them who accidentally signed more riders than they were allowed to have, following which one of their younger guys abruptly retired with back problems?

What do they do, sit around a table and get really, really drunk before signing contracts??

God knows, really really strong vodka is probably involved.

However...and this is nothing to do with transfers....have just read that Quintana's riding ToB! Nairo steaming up Haytor!

    Mind blown...

Astana ended up with more riders than allowed because Vino retired then came back about a month later so the young rider was sacrificed for the licence - I wouldn't go anywhere near them if I was a pro...

According to twitter Nelson Oliveira has snubbed Stoke City to go on loan to Rennes, despite Stoke agreeing a transfer fee with boss Rui Costa.

To me this seems a strange move for the Radioshack TT specialist and why is a Movistar rider getting involved?

Wondering how the boosting of 'Team Cav' effects Boonen.

There was a Cyclesport interview with Boonen a while back I think 2012 end of year review, but Boonen talked about changes there had been in the team and welcomed it, he admitted Quickstep had picked up too many of his friends really so everyone were 'yes' men which actually hinder his performance as no-one questioned his approach.

So potentially going on that it could actually help Boonen perform better, plus theres a lot of crossover between Boonen and Cav support riders Terpestra/Chavanel/Steegmans/Keisse

It might if Cav were to be interested in the Ronde or PR.
Cav "could" be getting prepared for the time his sprinting diminishes like Museeuw changed his programe and Tom is getting near his Sell by Date. ?

Thinking more of Milan San Remo, Gent Wevelgem, KBK and such like.

It seemed to me that at the start of the season they were most interested in getting Boonen to the start line than getting Cavendish to the finish line....

    Good signing.

Yeah, good move on part of both Lotto and Gallopin (though to be fair, only saying that because I'm not wild about the Shack's prospects, outside the likes of Cancellara and Jungels)
