Frenchie has never tested positive for twitter

Like I said on the last thread - twitter posts are not just found on twitter.

Plus I have no problem reading the tweets of people of note. Average joes on twitter is what I look with scorn and laughter on, especially those shooting for grandiosity #Fail

Suggestions are that the pace has slowed because the riders have come to an agreement to take the first climb at a steady pace so that riders don't struggle with the time cut today.

The race is still being neutralized on the climb by what appears to be the riders' intent to show solidarity

Sometimes I wonder why the F some riders turn up to a race.

At this rate, it will take them another 40 minutes to reach the top of Mont Cenis.

With the long downhill start and now this, race average speed is under 31kph.

The neutralisation a reaction to the hellish day yesterday and the cold yesterday. A lot of riders suffering with colds and exhaustion.

Rubbish visual experience for us, but I like it when I can imagine myself almost managing to hang on to the back :D

Just switched on and thought the race was officially neutralised, don't see the point if the riders have chosen to do it as they'll just be out there longer in the end.

Nearing the top, where there's a hotel, dodgy out door loo and the dam.

They've got over 50 kms of downhill to face, next.
Hope they've warmed up properly.

I can undestand that yesterday was tough. But it's a tough sport. If you are sick, then quit the effing race and stop wondering about on a mountain in France.

I assume they are neutralising the descent too? The only legitimate reason for not racing is safety and it's perfectly safe going up. Roads look beautifully clear other than a bit of snow melt.

just tuned in. Did the riders decide to neutralise the climb?

In my experience, I'd say this pass is the easiest way to cross the border. The road on both sides is very good indeed.
The descent to Lanslebourg is a succession of hairpins, but nice and wide. Much shorter than they Susa side, too.

    Hang on Pirazzi's off! :)

From all the stories I have heard about the history of the giro etc, I just don't get it. The teams can supply gloves and knee warmers so what is the problem? Cav must be happy though.

Wow lots of negativity. Have any of you lot ever been cycling, skiing or driving in the Alps when there is snow? I'm one of the most kamikaze descenders on both skis and a bike, however on a day like today I can fully understand their trepidation. Snowmelt on the corners creates massive problems when descending. Better to get down safely than not at all. At least we have them going up 2 iconic cols today.

I don't even thinks that's it. I think it's because riders are sick and tired from yesterday and in danger of today's time cut.

The roads are absolutely fine right now. They have been through more dangerous descents ealier in this race when it was constantly raining.
