Long stage today... and crappy weather yet again!

Shame about Bradders but I guess this weather was the decider

Weather looks bleak again. They must be getting pretty fed up with it now.

That bump with c10k to go. Enough for Evans to have a cheeky dig?

Longest stage of #giro is on its way! Ermeti, Boem, Bak, Lastras, Andriato, Ludvigsson and Hondo are up the road with a 3.40 lead

Gap now up to 10 minutes (via @mrconde).

Assuming they can pull them back, I wonder if Cavendish can hold on over that climb, he'll need to if he's harbouring ambitions of winning the points jersey. I picked him for PTP so he'll probably get dropped.

If the breakaway is within catching distance then somebody is bound to have a crack on that final climb, maybe a Di Luca day. Think GC favourites will treat it as another recovery day.

Gap is getting further away at around 13'45 now
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.

Well 120K to go and the gap is down to 7 minutes looks like OPQS & Green Edge are working to bring it back for sprint today.

Cav to take it today, as long as he can get over that speed bump with no issues.

I hope Cav fails in every way possible. Got some nerve to bring in his old workhorse.

But he will. It is, afterall, a hill with procents above 2 in the end of the profile...

Thankfully its going live soon so can see what its really like today, understand that the peloton is racing on to bring this break away back & that the peloton my have split into 2 groups possibly due to a strong side wind.

Hope Wiggo isn't watching all this sunshine lashing down.

So far the end of stage profiles have been "optimistic" for sprinters. I'd be surprised if Cav makes it to the final. But now Wiggo has retired, maybe they'll revert back to speed bumps.

For those not able to watch the action the peloton is holding steady at 3"40 behind the breakaway group with OPQS sat at the front controlling things

Very pleasant conditions. They'd better make the most of it, given the weekend's disastrous forecast.
