That`s a proper climb. No super team going to stop the talent there.

    Nice work Uran.

There you go. Exactly as I predicted.
    I'm wasted here, I am.

It's Uran. It should have been him for days... maybe that can be discussed for 15 pages.

Well I am a Wiggo fan but I do not care what DB says Wiggo is definately not in the best form of his life, bluffing for sure. U suspect there was some substance to him being ill recently and hoping to hide and stay in contention early on in Giro and ride into it.
He was struggling half way up the last climb and last year he would have been comfortable with these guys easily.
Still early days, look at wat hapened to Ryder! Also Evans in tour when ill, two weeeks to go, interesting Giro for sure.

Now, if Froome had been allowed to attack like that last year then BW might not have even won. I'd be raging if I were CF.

Props to Uran, Bettancur who proves he can cut it in any mountains, Nibali who is riding really well and Evans who has come back so strong from last year....

    Nibs blown!

EDITpremature, he looked cooked but now on the counter
He dropped his chain again, or maybe a rear mech issue, got back and attacked.

Just watching the slow-mo he gave that a proper dig to get that gap, V impressive

Wiggins looked strong on the final section, it still seems to be those bits over 15% that give him problems.

Don't think anyone care to be honest? especially not Bradders... why are you talking about the TdF in a Giro thread anyway?

Great stage that. Totally not a one horse race.
The little guys want to play, too.

Uran now ahead of a fading Wiggins.

Don't be so stupid, how can they swap while Wiggo is still ahead. They will play both cards.

Super impressive by Nibali and Evans. Wiggo's best ever climbing form, less impressive. Fine win for Uran.

CF is a professional and can do what his bosses tell him to do. Wiggins crushed him in the time trials and won the Tour.

In this particular race I would say it does look like Uran Uran is significantly stronger than Wiggins who doesn't have enough of an edge in the time trials over Nibali to make up for his deficiencies in the climbs.

I think Nibali is going to win this unless Evans rides his best ever time trial.

    Nibs cool as you like.

Pops his chain back on and then blasts past Evans...

He is in good form. But, the climbs at the Giro are much harder than those at the Tour - and they dont suit Wiggo's riding style. Also, the climbs are ridden far more aggressively in the Giro - certainly less controlled than at the Tour.

One of the Sky boys can try going early again next time out now. Keep sending one up the road and it is still possible Nibali will crack. Evans surprised me after the way he climbed in last year's Tour.

You may wish to conisder that cycling may not be the sport for you then. This has been happening for decades.

To be fair, in last years tour, Wiggo and Froome were both very strong.... If Froome were given freedom, he may have won GC, and if he did, Wiggo would have most likely have come in right on his tail, with seconds splitting them.

Wiggo looks a lot weaker this year, maybe it's because Sky won't use "a car" to help him along now that UCI will ban riders being helped along by "a car" ;)

    ....OOOH, controversial ;)

I hope no one is surprised with Wiggins. I thought he did a good job today. He is never going to be the best climber so he has got to limit his losses and he did that well. Nibali et co could have attacked earlier and would have got more time into him but he played it as if he was strong so they waited.

In that respect, it's a pity Henao fell away, today.
