I wasn't happy with the amount of rise on the Renthals so I have gone for some answer 50mm rise carbon pro tapers at 720 wide. I am leaning to keeping the Rebas and selling the 140mm revs as they won't fit my next project unfortunately.

I have no need for them, but I could be interested if the price is right!....Especially as you are local!

My Injury is healing slowly! Fed up of weekends in because I can't be out on the bike!

Thanks for the comments always appreciated the wheels were £240 quid from CRC on offer not sure if they still are though.

Good day today finally got round to servicing the rebas and they are now back on with the new cow horns.



Just need to service the revelations now and get them up for sale to help finance the new crankset.

You wouldn't be the first this week some pikey scum tried to break in to the garage but luckily it is fully wired into the house alarm and sound of me bounding down the stairs put them off. :evil:
New steel high security door fitted :twisted:
Definitely up for a meet would be a good crack.

Why is it if it aint bolted down ( or even if it is :? ) You practically have to sleep with it to avoid it getting nicked!! Nice one with the scare tactic though and the downstairs bounding prob thought they had awoken an angry giant hehe.. Good on ya mate

Worst part the attempted break in was I realised I hadn't declared the cotic on the insurance and it still reflected the canyon nerve :roll:
Anyway all good now so a very close shave. Word to the wise check your insurance as you may find it doesn't cover your pride and joys actual value, make sure you declare it.

Hope head doctor and a set of fox 32 float fit 120mm forks which have all gone on tonight with the easton haven stem.

Just need to set up sag and it will be good to go until the next box arrives

Nice bike mate, how well would you say it handles on the rough stuff? Got a build coming up on one of these. Gone for XT/XTR/FOX/Hope components. I think it's gonna be sick

Very well I wouldn't be without it and it is so fun to ride. I have rode with both 140mm revs and 120 rebas. I liked the extra travel but found it wasn't as snappy to ride but that's my opinion and I sure you will have your own ideas. If you intend to do mega drop offs you may be better with a BFE with the additional travel and stiffness. how ever the soul will take a serious amount of punishment and I doubt you would ever break one.

I look forward to welcoming you to the cotic family in the near future and seeing your build.

Nice thanks mate. I've got my Uzzi for all my DH/FR stuff, this is really because I'm too lazy to service my linkages during the winter riding.

Yep it is the downside of full suspension I changed all of them on my specialized but never needed to on the canyon which was a blessing as there spares support is not great in the UK.
The Uzzi is nice bike BTW.

Thanks mate, the only problem I have with the Uzzi linkage is that if it dies it's gonna cost me at least £150-200 to replace it all.

Birthday presents arrived but they have sent wrong rear cassette

The XT 11-36 cassette arrived so I quickly fitted this along with the the new crank ,shifters and mechs and then ran out of steam with the lack of a chain splitter which is on loan to my dad doh!
I have heli taped the cranks to try and preserve the fragile black finish which has worked well on the removed deores.
So just the chain to shorten and the gears to set up then job done.
Undefeated I set about cleaning the removed components and installing them on the niner.

There is only one item I am not happy with on the soul and that's the pedals but Xmas is fast approaching and I have seen the perfect set to finish the job off watch this space.......
In the mean time I plan to get out and ride the RS off it :twisted:
