Sourced a set of second hand 38mm rise renthal fat bars on AJ's advice, they are in great condition but will need trimming through being 750mm wide :shock: love the colour.
Also included were a set of renthal lock on grips, which feel very soft compared with the superstar grips I am currently running. I will try these out until the kowalski675 kriptonite odi/vans grips show up

Good call on the bars! Don't be hasty to cut them down though! I always ran my bars at 720, but the 762's I had last felt lovely after I got used to them! I'm currently running 777mm bars!

Agree on the bars, i run nukeproof 760's on mine, feels Lovely, just about right, had some rediculously wide 785's on one of the other bikes but they were just tooo much,
the grips are very good too, a coupe of peeps i know run them and are Very impressed!! and unloike the supastars, they last a while too! :-D

Took the bike to Sherwood pines to try out the new cow horns and I am loving them at 750mm,the higher rise and control tweeks have virtually eliminated the pain in my hands so happy day.............. Well almost towards the end of the ride the rear cassette lock nut came loose so I had to baby it back but a great trip tbh.







So the jobs to do list is
Replace the groaning BB with the hope one still not done :oops:
Shorten the rear mech cable
Service the rebas as they are not that smooth any more. I won a set of bargain 140mm revelations off evil bay while drunk doh! So I may stick them on while i do the rebas and see which I prefer.

Mint looking bike; keep up the good work. Personally I'd have stayed with black bars to match the seatpin and got some of those waffle grips to match the seat but that's me!!

I have only been on the local loop and sherwood pines in the dry on them and I like them. They are no way an all year round tyre and the WTB bronsons will be back on when things go sloppy TBH.

At 24 quid off eBay delivered for a pair I think they are a real bargain.

Got the bike weighed on a decent scale and came in at 27lbs dead which is better than first weighed but could be better.Pedals and and may be a crank upgrade are on the horizon.

Well my drunken eBay win showed up yesterday a set of (2011?) tapered 140mm revelation RL 15mm bolt throughs. Got them fitted last night and the rebas off ready for a service just awaiting the seal kit which mr post man should bring today. Immediately I could feel a huge difference regarding smoothness and initial travel confirming the rebas were ready for a service.

The Overall condition is very good with no marks on the legs or stanchions just some cable rub on the top in usual places(which I will touch in) and it is missing the floodgate cap. Not bad for £110 quid

I have looked at the sram parts list and it looks like you can't buy it on its own,it only comes as a kit with the compression knob . So if any of you good people have one in their spare parts bin please let me know? Or know where I can snag one
Still no sign of the odi grips yet,will have to get on to Alan's bmx next week.

I have fitted them with the superstar black lock rings as I didn't like the white and silver checkers in the flesh.
Fitted the Hope BB and everything is smooth as butter.The old shimano one was completely goosed and very gritty.

The other bit of good news my old man was having a clear out and found a reba remote lock out conversion kit and pop lock lever which at first glance looks like it will fit the Revs so fingers crossed.



If not i will just rob the mushroom cap.
Going out tomorrow for the second ride on the revs and trying to decide which I prefer. I have the seal kits now so the reba is getting serviced this weekend hopefully.

27lb inst bad fella, mine weighs in at 25lb,
cranks, cassette, pedals and seat post are where you'd save weight, i'd doubt with a dropper post you'd see sub 25lb's!

Yes no problem always keen to oblige not had much time recently work keeps getting in the way. Still got the rebas and the revs to service. i have noticed the hope brakes are not wearing even on the new discs so either caliper rebuilds on the way and or new pads I will post pick and get some opinions as it looks quite odd.

Yeah that was me, i was suffing after a heavy night on the beer and a visit to the curry house. my ride buddy is out of action with a shot Achilles' tendon at the mo :roll: hence slogging it alone. Found a couple of nice single tracks round there to romp round on. Still got the 140mm revs on as I haven't had time to nip to my old mans to fetch the oil to service the rebas. Cant make my mind up which Fork I prefer to be honest.
He has just finished his specialized carbon stumpy HT 29er which is absolutely gorgeous with full 10 speed XTR groupset and crank bros wheels. I would steal it but it is 21" frame and I don't fancy riding in Cubans
