Pmsl @ Chunkers & RockMonkey give the guy a break, lol after all the title does say my FIRST mountain bike. He does not clearly have the cash flow you two might have? RockMonkey i must concur with the statement about your expensive hobby/taste does somewhat leave mere mortals with not so many coins in their collection.
Anyway you are quite right of course, his bike is quite suitable for his needs although obviously not as adept as your Nukeproof RockMonkey or any of yours Chunkers.
Each to his own i say guys lol

I said his bike is fine for what he does and he called me an idiot.
I may be an idiot, but there is one thing I am not and that, is an idiot.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Can I just say again, the word is JUST
That's annoying me more than the rest of the illiteracy!0 -

You clearly have no clue about lots of things.
Any information generally regarded as fact you seem to ignore.
You seem incapable of learning, especially that thouGH has the gh and just is not a gravy and has a t on the end.
You think I'm a prick sometimes, you’ll always be a moron.
sorry m8 everyones a prick sometimes don't take it personally
im jus think this whole mountain biking thing is a crock of shoot. im sure that a £300 rockridder would be lovely give it a month don't the line and sure it wont feel any different to how my £150 thing feels and im sure a £3k nukeproof thing will feel exactly same 6 months down the line.
you all seem to be very much up yourself with you exspensive and often very impractical fancy toys. with the exception of a couple of people i don't think this forum is the right place for me. i came here hoping to find some advice on what cheap bike to buy i got constant reply's telling me to buy something £300 which i found a similar spec for £150 on ebay. yes i do enjoy cycling but i don't think this forum encourages enjoying it more for people with big egos and deep pockets. o look at this new shiny piece of kit it only cost £100s for a wheel or tyre or look at this new build bike so far its only cost me £1000s isn't it a bargin. why have a super car when the speed limits 70. may I add the classified section on this forum is a bloody joke some people must think half the world was born yesterday look at this lovely "retro" bike I found they found chucked in the back of shed and or skip they cleaned and put some stupidly over priced crap on it which was never designed for it and are now trying to sell to some idiot for than it cost brand new originally. having lot at the classified section on hear a lot while was thinking about buying a bike its all crap mainly that has been brought for cheap and modified beyond all reasonable doubt and now selling for stupid money if I had a ford escort and made it look like a Ferrari its still a escort and still only worth a few hundred not £1000's the few decent bike's which are on there are some guys expensive toy which is had spent £1000's on and is trying to sell now so he can afford to pay his mortgage or move house or save up for next years bloody model but his not trying to sell the bike at a sensible price and price that average person can afford oh no he's got some stupid thought in his head that seem it cost £3k when he brought it and he spent at least another £1k on over priced crap that I didn't need anyway it's now worth at least £4k of anyone's money because he's looked after it when in reality its worth probably worth half that much or less and that's to people who wanna buy it its probably worth a few hundred to the company who made and maybe few hundred to a shop as demo model
for a internet forum your very very big on grammar half people i know on actually own mountain bikes cant spell there own name yet alone go thou and check every word for perfection
Wow!!!
Are you really saying that a £3K nukeproof scalp is actually going to ride like your £150 bike after 6 months of use?
I hope you remember this thread when you grow up and can afford a nice bike! You'll kick yourself for saying half the stuff you just have!
I don't think anyone's said anything wrong to you at all here! You just seem very touchy about anyone saying anything you don't quite agree with!
Oh and;
You're (you are)... your (belongs to you).

I would just like to point out that my Nukeproof was £3800, not £3000 as suggested in various posts above.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Im almost sad he has give up on bikeradar. I was looking forward to seeing his next bike which, I believe will be an Apollo which is better than Gee Atherton's factory race bike.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

He actually didn't. I was refreshing as he typed his first reply and then he added to it at least twice and the part about the classifieds just appeared. Wish I'd quoted it to stop him changing and adding. Still didn't correct any grammar ect, but suspect that's because he jus doesn't have a clue .0 -
Jesus wept, nice ranting. But to be fair to the bloke he was just trying to talk about his new hobby. Give him a break guys. Even if some/most of it was self inflicted!0

Don't give up. If you re-read this thread, and the one in which you chopped your bike budget in half to get a suit and haircut for your interview, you'll see that people were generally saying that you get something dramatically better for £300 than £150. They weren't suggesting you spend thousands, no one said that. I don't look down on someone on a cheap bike, and I don't imagine many people here do either.time.to.ride wrote:Each to his own i say guys lol

This was a good read, i would wipe out the boring spellchecker crap and keep it going.
New members should have help from mods and they should remove the annoying crap.
Guy was enjoying himself and one too many crap posts caused him to get pissed off.
Tidy this up and get the guy back to continue posting and remove future crap.
New members should be able to post without the windups.0 -
He was a bit of a tool. He asked for advice and then went against all of it. Then asked for more advice and ignored that as well. He didn't read replies properly and took offence to replies which were intended as encouragement. It wasnt just this thread, there were quite a few. Then there was the rant about people who spend more than a few hundred on a bike deing idiots.
To be honest he brought most of the abuse on himself.
I wish him all the best and hope he continues to enjoy riding laps of the park.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
