You've been failing to get in this hockey girl's pants since the Tour.

Time for a new focus, lest you become the Andy Schleck of dating.

Sometimes you have to admit that you're in the friendzone.

So I went without till I saw a mechanic I knew from 2010 holding bottles and this was where I realised more than ever, never burn your bridges with people in the sport!

As politely as possible asked luca who works for another team for a bottle he was holding out for his riders. Upon seeing it was me he quickly thrust the bottle infront of me.
This is really interesting. I've seen riders take bottles from other teams before, and always assumed it was just part of getting along in the peloton. If you're handing out bottles to your team and see a rider who's just missed one from another team, you give him a bottle hoping that his team will reciprocate when one of your rider's is in the same situation. It had never occurred to me that it might be more down to personal relationships between riders and staff from other teams.

I called this admission "My mid 20s"

Do we know for sure it is the same hockey girl? Only there are a lot of them about these parts. Sometimes I feel like I should just carry a hockey stick about so that I have all the necessary accessories and am seeming to integrate.

Is that like the feedzone only without the useful cotton bag you can re-use for your grocery shopping?*

I think it is probably a little of both also. You have to be a hard person not to give a bottle out to a suffering rider unless you have hardly any left and need them for your own team.

Is there any truth to the rumour that when asked about his team yesterday Sir Bradley shook his head and muttered "dogsh!t" ?

No, this is a different one. I met her a while back, but I ve not seen her since then. Gossip is she's newly single apparently (and she suggested the ride)

NB - it was just a ride, but I was hoping to "see how it goes" then maybe make further enquiries

She's already suggesting I might be a bit too much Bradley Wiggins for her!!! (definitely not true)

Oh, she rides a Bianchi by the way ;)

I seem to remember another team refusing to give Cancellara a bottle at either P-R or Flanders a couple of years ago.

    Yes, very interesting!

(“The crowd support along the way was absolutely incredible! I don't know if nobody works in this part of italy on thursdays?”)
The reason there were the crowds the size of which surprised him was that it was a public holiday on Thursday in Italy, and also in many other countries of Europe. It was the religious Feast of Corpus Christi.

NO! And for that she has slightly lost some appeal in my opinion..

The colour doesn't matter as long as you can get the leg over. !

What colour is it, out of interest? This is one of my other nerdy obsessions. Plus I feel I should stick up for this mystery woman although it might not apply, actually probably doesn't as she's Dutch and therefore probably a mountain but [rant] I speak from experience when I say that if you are small and a woman it can be quite hard to find teeny frames in the 'right' colours if you want an off the peg bike as opposed to building one yourself. It is one of my bug bears, the assumption that if you ride a 47cm/XXS frame then you must be 10 years old and like pink/purple and glittery bits. [/rant]

Certainly is - Bianchi is the cream of racing bikes with a standard colour.
So the interest is who would dare paint it another colour and what is it. :?:

PS - back in my day we couldn't get them because the importers brought in Frejus frames so we had hand made frames to our spec's and had them painted in that colour. (I had two).

Dunno, its a navy.blue for some reason.as opposed.to.the bluey hereby colour they usually are. Looks like a decent enough frame so no idea why its the wrong blue! Wheels look lovely mind, don't recognise them though.

Not even the handlebar tape in the 'right' colour?

I've seen red Bianchis and also yellow ones, and in order to still keep a bit to the tradition, they both had turquoise handlebar tape.

The colour of the bikes yes but not a ton of posts about someone`s love life.

My Bianchi is Celeste although the frame broke recently. I was going to get another Bianchi but they are now too commercial and the colour scheme is no good.

Just so you know they do one with a lovely shade of pink, there's one hanging in the window of my local bike shop. If you had that one you could pretend you were the maglia rosa. :D

    better known as celeste...

Bianchi's do seem to come in a motley of colours, but having just ordered one I can confirm that the celeste remains the most popular... been waiting an age for it to arrive as they'd run out...

I had a gorgeous celeste Bianchi which was stolen, still getting over that.

Now that i'm less svelte I have to stickl to slimming colours like Black
