I must say that paint has come out pretty decent for spray can work.0
-
Thanks. I thought it was going to be awful, especially with the length of the stem, but it actually feels better than the previous setup. Could be a different story with knobblies though.0
-
I think the bike just has odd geometry to it which makes it a bit difficult to judge what bar/stem combo would work without trying them out. It's a lot better than when you first posted it though0

Cheers. Metallic was much much harder than the previous matt black. I actually sprayed it and left it to dry thinking i was done, then ended up spraying it again as it looked patchy all over the frame.
I cant believe that this is what i was riding when i first joined the forum. Haha:
I dont understand geometry, but so far every combo ive tried has worked well. (apart from that one in the photo)0 -
Can't go wrong with a nice shade of metallic blue, it's always a winner.
I reckon my Sunday playing silly buggers round Gisburn Forest sounds more fun though0 -
Definitely is a winner, i wanted metallic red as you know but i couldnt find the shade i wanted. I think i prefer this even if i had the red i wanted anyway.
My sunday involved beer even though im "not old enough" More fun!
Forgot to add this picture, i made use of the can as a paint thinner bath for my headset and frame bolts, they used to be red and would look stupid, so i stripped it.

I've always loved a strong metallic blue. If/when it comes time to powdercoat my Kraken frame then a candy metallic blue will be on the shortlist.0

That honestly looks far better mate.0

Good job on that for a rattle can!
Could do with some decals though I reckon.0 -
Thanks. The only decals id put on it would be GT decals that look like chrome. If you know what i mean. I saw a page selling some different colours. And one of the colours said "silver" but there isnt a picture. I might message the seller and ask for a picture of the decals. If they are chrome like i want then id probably get them0

If you do a google image search for GT arrowhead you'll see how the original blue ones looked.0
-
Ive had a look for Arrowheads on google before, was looking for colour ideas Originally i wanted the metallic red from the Zaskar frames.
Not too keen on the black decals on a blue frame though, like this
White would look nicer.
Those designs on the outside of the text look amazing though. And they arent actually decals. On my frame they were painted on. Quite cool. You can buy the GT decals that look like that. They cost £30!! :shock:0 -

Ther's been this amazing new innovation in photography recently. It's called the zoom lens, lol. If you don't have one then you can use those things on the end of your legs called feet...
Avoid the old five foot ten syndrome too, if you want a better picture.0 -
I took it from far away on purpose, I wanted a bit of the background aswell. If you have a look at all of my other photos that i take, i make sure that the bike takes up almost all of the image (wheel to wheel). I think it looks nice with a bit more background, when its a more "plain" background.
I can always crop them anyway if need be.0 -
Why would you want to include "background" that's just an ugly wall and adds nothing to the picture (and a whole load of empty foreground)?I can always crop them anyway if need be.
They do need cropping - nice colour, terrible photography, lol. I'll give you some lessons in photographic composition next time I'm round shagging your mum, lol.0 -
I didn't think they were too bad in fairness.0

Hahaha. The only thing that i didnt do on purpose was in the first photo i wanted the floor to be parallel to the bottom of the photo. That was the only poor bit IMO.
Well i cropped the pictures, what do you guys think? I actually prefer it with a bit more background, without the crop.
Photos like yours are not achievable to that detail on a HTC Im gonna try some more photos and post them here, im gonna go for the car park shot to start with, then find a nice back drop. Thanks for sharing.0 -

Trust me, it wasn't, lol. I don't know much about bikes, but I do know photographic composition.Photos like yours are not achievable to that detail on a HTC
A good photographer can take a good picture on any camera - we're not talking about the quality of your glass here, we're talking composition.0 -
Gawd, where do I start with what's wrong with that one? Don't give up your day job0

So now that your bike is ok, your photography skills are now on the firing line...0

Bike against white garage door, drive side showing, big ring on chainset, small ring on cassette, cranks in line with but not obscuring chainstay or seat tube, valve stems at the 90' to the ground.Job Done.0
