Believe me you say you want to keep upgrading that because you like it but spend £400 on a proper mtb and you'll take the piss out of yourself more than we have for saying that.0

Yeah...obviously...i just dont have one right now because i need my weekends for studies. Ill start looking for a job after my exams are done, and hopefully work full time throughout the summer. I got offered a full time job from the garage im looking to go to a few weeks back, so im hopeful they will allow me to work there for the 9-10 weeks ive got off school.0 -

Lol. Thats probably very true. No matter what ill still keep this, im gonna turn it into a commuter anyhow. and if i did have a proper MTB id obviously upgrade that instead of this!0 -
Buy and sell parts off ebay, that what I did during school and sixth form. Doing that set me up with 3 awesome bikes (that were constantly getting upgraded as I bought and sold parts), extra cash so I could go out/get to rides and it was fun.0

Ive got nothing worth selling...lol! Thanks for the suggestion though. Ive almost got all the bits for the Chucker now. i need a front wheel, cassette, chain and disc brakes. I should be getting them all this week. Im getting paid from a little bit of work i did at the end of the month, so ill use that and save up a bit more for something like a pair of bomber forks.
So that would be a good upgrade from this.0 -

My Sunday was spent rebuilding the GT once again. Id had enough of the black paint, and i got a bit of money so i bought a can of paint and a can of primer. The paint was awful, and i realised i was missing out big time by not doing this sooner.
As well as respraying it, ive upgrade a few things from a load of good condition spares that i had. Ive done the following:
Dropped the all in ones for Avid brake levers and Deore LX shifters
Swapped the Acera rear mech for a Deore XT rear mech
Added a front mech. I wanted to have an Altus one on there, but that was a top pull so it wasnt compatible. Looked at a spare 300LX i had and my frame was too thick for that. So i had to settle for a Shimano Nexace one that i had.
I had some left over blue outer from my BMX build, so i tried to do the whole of the wiring again using that, but there wasnt enough. I only needed one more wire. So unfortunately my BMX had to say bye bye to its rear brake. And once i got all the wiring done, i thought why not nick the levers off the BMX aswell? They were a pretty much perfect match with my paint job. Lucky i bought them for christmas. LOL.
Got rid of the stem and bars for polished ally ones. Lost some weight and it feels alot better now with shorter bars, should help with going through traffic aswell. Added a Btwin ally seat post with a white seat aswell. Got white XLC grips instead of red too.
Really really pleased with how its turned out, and was alot of fun
