It gives me a warm feeling inside seeing climbers ride poor TTs. It's how it should be.

Well, if the much vaunted unbeatable boring Sky Train had performed better in the TTT........

That's a downside of having a team with a lot of strong mountain domestiques - expect to see 100km TTTs in future GTs.

So glad Nibali won and glad he is close to the top of like list.

Skin and bone Froome and shattered from yesterday still TTs better than best of the GC riders

Come on FF- bit unnecessary that. Hardly a surprise that Froome can do a decent TT and surely all the GC riders are knackered from yesterday.

Agree re Nibali. Deserved winner and a great ride yesterday.

Agree that it was a deserved win & does make for an entertaining show down for the rest of the season. If we can get Bert & Cadel up there as well in terms of fitness I can see this year being a cracker for the bigger races.
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.

Watching Froome crush the other GC riders who have a long and consistent palmares reminds me of Rasmussen.

    Courage wins the GC.

So are you saying that all of Berties early wins were doped then?

Not sure why people keep underrating Nibali. He can win just about any race on the calendar.

    Whatever happened with this

Eurosport commentary: Nibali must be confident ahead of the Giro, all of the main GC guys are here except Wiggins.

*cough* think the defending Giro champ might have good reason to be a bit hacked off by that comment

It took me a good 8 seconds to remember who the Giro champ is. Sorry, Ryder.

Or how easily someone else overlooks the fact that Froome was runner-up to Wiggins in both TTs at the Tour, and won bronze at the Olys

Hmm, well...the lesser-spotted Ryder is coming out of hibernation and will be seen in public next week at Catalunya

TBF Frenchie wasn't implying that Froome suddenly started cheating to beat the other GC men in this race.

He is implying that he started cheating to achieve the results you mention too.

Perhaps more shocking is that Contador went from legendary battles with Rasmussen, to not even being able to beat Chris Froome, and barely holding off Michal Kwiatkowski. What changed??

That wasn't meant as a slight against Ryder, more a slight against my brain. I full expect Ryder to be pretty darn close to the top again.

That hmmm wasnt aimed at you. More of a reflection that you probably couldnt have a GT winner more under the radar than him.

Extrapolate that out to the Tour and I've got Froome 1.5 to 2mins ahead from TTs alone. Going to take a very ballsy rider to burn that time off him on the climbs.

Alliances, crashes or weather look like the only way Froome will be beaten. Which makes me wonder if Wiggins is going to hang on for grim death on the climbs and out TT Froome once again.
