You know I had no idea Contador was a 'Feel' man. SRM say he used their power meter. The power meter boys must have been keeping that one from me. Didn't know about Dan Martin either.

Any more Luddites in the peloton?

Froome uses power meter, but not team radio, so I don't know where he fits in.

Oh no, I comprehend. Its like whenever muffin man used to abuse me (he probably still does but I dont read his posts) I took it as a compliment.

Either way, its tongue in cheek a little. I'd recommend the whole thread I posted. Some info on there rather than the usual pointless posting.

Can I just confirm that this is an admission that your posting is usually pointless?

Froome uses the radio but can't understand it so ignores it, like most people who use a power meter.

One, I know you've taken to calling me muffin man, but that's not my name you see, but if it makes you happy go ahead.

Tell you what, where's the bit where I 'used to abuse you', that's a laugh, I was pointing out the Irony that it was you of all people that got sucked in by a joke, fake Cyclismas article and got up in arms cos of how it referenced AC being mistreated but it was actually (and very obviously) a 'complete mickey take' of AC's own moaning.... and THEN... it was you mate that pretty much said I should take a look at myself and that I had a low IQ along with personality faults.

...which was funny as you went on to defend that you thought the article was real :) didn't it even have Contador using the well known Spanish phrase 'Aye Carumba'?? ...Fact is, you'd read it completely, taken the time to highlight the bits that bothered you and THEN claimed you thought it was from a viable source, which, in view of your defending of Contador at the time, was funny, not just to me, but pretty much everyone that commented.

I take it you also didnt see a recent poster get sucked in by a Cyclismas article who put his hands up and found it funny himself and then plenty of people congratulated him for putting his hands up in such a cool way, the complete opposite of you with your arrogant, derogatory, judgemental, righteous posts to me and then you somehow manage to think it was me being abusive! Well, that's just typical.

Geraint uses a power meter - he's leading the race and won a stage. Not that this matters at all, just thought I'd join in the random posting on who does or doesn't use one.

Dan Martin trains on feel. Contador does also.

You have to be out of your mind to think that Gilbert will be hanging over his srm and racing according to his numbers - he is polar opposite of SKY number monkeys.

Who knows, some teams may be obligated to have it on their bike even if they dont use it.

I can show you 500 photos of Gilbert or Contador with a power meter. I could also show you tons without.

There is a difference between using it to race precisely and using it because your team is obligated to have them by srm or because you want some of the info may be useful plus it also has all info like speed, time, distance, temp etc etc

You see, do you think Contador gives a flying fuck what those numbers say when he is putting the field to the sword? How many quotes do you want to back that up.

When J-rod or Gilbert is tearing the field to pieces do you think they are sitting there thinking oh I am over xyz number let me put the breaks on.

Please. Discussion is finished my end, once again in my favour.

I've never really understood the idea that not using modern training aids is in some way purer and morally superior. I just see it as backward.

If you were on an airplane and the captain said that he didn't believe in modern gadgets like altimeters and ne preferred to land the plane 'on feel', I doubt many would praise his romantic ideals.

  • I think you misunderstand how power meters are employed.

Plus SRM don't deal with teams, if they do it's only a bulk buy discount. They deal with individuals. If he has one, it's because he wants one.

Let me put it this way, why would you add the weight to your bike if you didn't have to?

I've also decided the discussion is finished in my favour.

I've also told my boss I've doubled my pay and informed the hot barmaid from the pub across the road she wants to sleep with me and told my wife she doesn't mind.

Shall we see how this logic plays out?

Are we really arguing about this..?

Some people use them, some don't. Is it really that interesting?

Maybe it's not giving a monkeys about rubbish like this that is why I find TT's/TTT's so flipping dull. It's almost as dull as what a kit or a bike looks like...
