For a moment that same thought crossed my mind, but similar things and worse have happened to people who were not riding bikes, aint no reason to keep fear in your hearts. That's all I have to say - this is not the thread to derail. The above is a post in a forum on the Intertubes, and should be taken with the appropriate amount of seriousness.0 -
Don't know what to say, just really sorry. I read it first thing this morning and can't really concentrate on work at the moment.
Keep as positive as possible.0 -
completely lost for words, all the best and hope you start to get your strength back.0

Jeez, that's bad - hope you recover as fully as possible. The fact that you're logging in to tell us is impressive in itself. Best of luck."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0

Good luck OB. A friend of mine found herself in a similar situation. 11 years on, she has a fabulous family, with another one on the way. It's been tough, but she's managed to keep moving forward with the support of her family and friends.FCN 3 / 40

Your story will be in the back of my mind now whenever I'm riding.
All the best and I look forward to more of your posts.0 -
Awful news, what bad luck.
But a person who chooses the username 'optimisticbiker' will be fine, I'm sure. And as others have said, we're all here to help in any way we can.
Best wishes.0 -

I can't put into words what went through my head when I read that. All I can say is keep your spirits up and I am sure you will make the very best of the situation you find yourself in, both now and in the future.0

Totally shocked to read this and really impressed that your post still lives up to your username despite the enormity of the news! Thank you for even thinking to let us know when there are much bigger things on your mind!
Will keep my fingers crossed that you make the best recovery possible... x (as a girl, I'm sure I'm allowed to sign off like that)0 -
wow......I am so sorry for you. I am glad you actually survived and hope you can get back to good health as soon as possible. Chin up, W.0

Oh crikey - I can only reiterate the shock others have already expressed. It really brings home how much luck can play in your life. I'm often surprised how quickly parked vehicles can suddenly materialise particularly around October-November when you ride in semi gloom.
Keep being Optimistic and keep being biker - the more you will it, the more likely it will happen.Faster than a tent.......0 -
Crumbs that a bit of shock, though not as much as to your self no doubt.0

Can't add anything more, except that I am thinking of you.
