Yesterday in a local supermarket in rural Lincolnshire I overheard the following......
Middle aged man inadvertently blocked the path of a young lady with his shopping trolley.
" Ooops sorry sweetheart".
"That is alright love".
Made my day, I thought nice to know that odious Political Correctness has not percolated to this corner of the UK yet.
Unless he slapped her on the arse or gave her a job based on the fact she's hot I'm not really sure why PC has much to do with it.0 -

Did her eyes cross and then pull a funny face?
I can't help you on that one. It was flying rather fast and may in any case have been a male.
Anyway it certainly ain't summery but then it is only Friday.
I think crumb was talking about a different kind of burd.0 -

I would have been extremely unhappy if that joke hadn't been made...0

Reminds me of the stripper with a tattoo on her arse
“What’s that tattoo?” asks a punter
“It’s a swallow” replies the stripper “And don’t ask, I don’t!!”0 -
A few from this morning:
The sound of a woodpecker pecking at a tree
Running in pouring rain - I like running on bright, crisp days too but for some reason I find the rain refreshing. I hate cycling in the rain though!
Jumping in a hot bath after being outdoors for a few hours in said rain.0 -

I love all physical activities during the rain, cycling, running, rugby, there’s something quite intensifying about peering through narrowed eyes in the pissing down rain!0 -
Borrowed a garden shredder from a friend. What would have been a car load for the dump is shredded and in a neighbour’s green wheelie bin. With their permission I might add.0

If an illegal immigrant had a fight with a paedophile would it be called Alien vs Predator ?Always be yourself, unless you can be Aaron Rodgers....Then always be Aaron Rodgers.0

Happening upon a Youtube of the Pink Floyd Live8 performance and recalling watching it at the time with my then 14yo daughter when she turned to me during 'Comfortably Numb' and said "yeah, I see what you mean". Happy days.0

Perhaps we should lobby the IOC to make hand wringing an Olympic sport. Readers of The Guardian would share the medals.
I say 'share the medals' as I'm sure they would not want any winners nor losers.0 -

Yes, I generally respect Ballysmate, even if I disagree with him on most things I think he's honest and tries to play the ball rather than the man, but that really is a tw*ttish thing to say.0 -
Veronese68 wrote:Ballysmate wrote:

Seriously?
I would hope not. But my comment was what I believed to be a light hearted retort to Orraloon who had equated kiddy fiddling with illegal immigration in the minds of Mail readers, to which you seem to give a pass. He implied that readers of that paper would perhaps back an illegal immigrant against a paedophile.
Didn't mean to cause you such offence as I didn't realise you read the Guardian.0 -

Given the fact that the average Daily Mail reader (judging by the ones I have met in real life, and the comments section under any article about refugees) would happily send asylum seekers back to their deaths, I don't think orraloon's post was particularly unfair. OTOH, I'm pretty sure that people from across the political spectrum despise the sexual abuse of children.0 -
Asylum seeker does not equal illegal immigrant does it?
Mind you, perhaps it does in some newspapers0 -
Ballysmate wrote:Asylum seeker does not equal illegal immigrant does it?

You're right, my mistake. :oops:0 -
Why was my comment regarded as twattish* and Orraloon's not?
He implied that Mail readers would find it difficult to champion a paedo over an illegal immigrant.
I replied that a Guardian reader would find it difficult to identify a lesser cause, which amounts to the same thing.
Funny old world.
Edit *Tw*ttish0 -

I didn't think you were entirely serious, but that was a bit much. With respect to Orraloon's comment, I didn't think it was out of order as the Mail and it's readers vilify both groups equally. I know you will take a cheap shot as a bit of a wind up, but that one was unreasonable.0 -

Why is my post unreasonable and Orraloon's not we both basically posted the same thing?0
