Yes. She was doing it last week. A 500 mile cycle from Edinburgh to London, stopping off to walk up and down Skafell Pike and swim across Lake Windemere and finishing off running a marathon into London.

Apparently this makes her a hate figure to some. But give her a Grand Chapeau.

Aye, but she still looks like a crow.

I'll let you in on my secret doper detection method. It has never failed me so far.

When someone in their late 20s suddenly has a vast improvement and starts winning left and right, they are doping.

Wow, you should work for the UCI with insight like that or maybe even British Cycling/Sky, I mean it's not like Brailsford ever got any results is it? Bit strong to HATE someone because they dropped the ball on JTL, it's not like he went round and murdered your family is it?

Anyway, you never answered why you hate Sky and their "Apologists" I think it may be because you are just an internet troll, who as far as I can see has only posted about doping on here and has no actual love for the sport. I'll say this before the thread gets locked as every one you seem to meddle in eventually gets locked...

I now feel a tad ashamed

Its the BB stuff...she gets on me goat for that...

She was always very charming when she did Street Mate. I often suspected most of the men on the show would have preferred a date with her. I like to think that afterwards she was simply paid to be..er.. a b1tch, but I suspect I could be wrong.

From the interviews she has been giving on BBC breakfast, it seems she is absolutely shattered and has raised lots of money. Hard to criticise for that.

I know a bloke who appeared on Street Mate. Also one of my best friends appeared on programme she did for Sky in the late 90s called Prickly Heat. Both only had good things to say about her.

Definitely. He had no interest in his official 'date'.

I never hated Davina, I never much fancied her either though...I reckon she'd be great on a night on the lash i have to say. Can we get Paul to get here to the next London Social maybe?

I don't think she's the best TV Presenter in the world but I don't think she's the worst either...she does to a little bit too much of the millionaire "final answer", "sure?", *insanely long pause* "we ll find out after the break" crap but everyone appears to have to do that now. :(

'Tis alright RR I have an obsessively tidy house (a bit Cavlike OCD me), but then I did just out myself as dull (I really am, its true, I've accepted it).

    Any case studies?

To avoid everyone shouting for evidence and crying about libel, I will only mention official dopers. The following are ones I can think off on top of my head, I'm sure there are more.

Bjarne Riis, Lance Armstrong, Santiago Perez, Bernhard Kohl, Ricardo Ricco, Mauro Santambrogio, JTL

Her background story on Who Do You Think You Are (soz, everyone) was pretty interesting - she's overcome addiction to booze and the hard stuff

Mmmm, Ricco and Kohl fall into the category of late 20 bloomers?
    I don't think so.

Clean riders that have done the same, in order of biggest improvement: Froome, Wiggins, Cobo
  • To avoid accusations of libel I'd remove JTL from your list, The Truth. He has only been accused of irregularities in his blood passport data, not convicted of doping. Therefore, he is not an official doper.

As for Davina McCall, wasn't her French great grandad or something involved in the whole Dreyfus affair in a good way, i.e. he wasn't an anti-semite? He was a friend of Zola etc.? Was he something in the police force? I can't quite remember it.

Her great grandfather was head of the French police in the 1900s, and stood by Dreyfus when he was scapegoated, providing testimony for his defence. After Dreyfus was imprisoned, Zola wrote a public letter of protest which was published in one of the big French newspapers, drawing the attention of people outside France to the injustice, and eventually the French caved in to the international pressue and released Dreyfus.

There endeth the lesson for Monday

Awfully sorry. Hope he won't sue me.

Does anyone know what happened to Cobo by the way? Such a great talent.

He's gone to that Turkish team that keeps winning the Tour of Turkey and then losing it a few weeks later.

old guy, no one remembers who he is, get's lucky, beats opponents who are tired/broken/not that in to it really having had other plans, wins

The next year no one gives them the freedom they had before as they re the "Vuelta Champion" and they end up back in mid table obscurity again until they re forgotten. Lets be honest Horner and Cobo should have just retired on their highs but I imagine the lure of cashing in one last time would tempt most people

    You re dissapointed arent you...
