I expect they've already changed the number to 3 (it's wins this season).0 -

I don't think the jersey is about money though, it's almost about something money can't buy.

Good race, enjoyed that!
Ride of the day has to be Stannard?
Also good rides from Boom, Degenkolb and Navardauskas!
And does this put to bed the idea that EBH isn't very good over 200km?0 -
has pip spent money on skincare?eating parmos since 1981

Is more aero, like a golf ball. Marginal gains and all that...0 -
Luke Rowe is a good prospect for the classics...impressive ride by a very young neo pro.0

But can you blame him? He deserves to pig out a bit.0 -

Yes to the first two.
Probably for #3.0 -
Rick Chasey wrote:pb21 wrote:Richmond Racer wrote:Stannard - Sky had better give him protected leader status next spring
Could do very well indeed. Can see him really being up there towards the end in Roubaix. Along with Thomas and Flecha they will have a strong team.
Flecha's left sky.
I really really hope he gets one major win before he retires...0 -
ooh the warfare in the Spanish camp is developing further according to the journos on Twitter...
I''m backing Oscar...0 -
Wig go has been on the ale big time of late I hear. He was spotted in the pub late the evening before he pulled out of the Tour of Britain with a 'stomach bug'.....10 pints will have that effect I guess :-) fair play to him though-he's had one of the all time greatest cycling seasons IMO.0

Never! Chasey will be bringing that one out about him and Sagan until they re 36!We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

What, you expect me to read all 20 pages? I've just watched the entire road race, give me a break!0 -

Not being mean, but I couldn't see Wiggins or Cav winning that. Or Froome.
Could you see Gilbert winning the Tour, or 4 times in a row on the Champs Elysees?
Not his forte is it. He's a one day classics rider and occasional stage winner at the bigger races. The win was classic Gilbert....0 -

That was my point.
Expecting Cav, Wiggo or Froome to win as Gilbert won today is as silly as expecting Gilbert to win the way the other 3 do.0 -
Wonder if Cav will update his Twitter now? Nothing since 6th September. Not that I cyber-stalk the young man or anything 8)0

He need to change the photo for a start!0 -
Never known him be so quiet for so long - even during the run-up to the Sky announcement last year he was still doing his thing0

Blimey, how tall is Chris Froome?

The rainbow jersey for a year. The money is broadly irrelevant.
Not sure Pip will be saying that when he takes a look at his bank account in February after spending a lot of time standing in rainbow lycra infront of various cameras...
Sure. The prize money is irrelevant because you'll make a lot more elsewhere. I'd suggest you'd probably get more money at a crit as world champ than you would from winning the race.0 -

Phillipe Gilbert, World Champion
I chose the avatar for who I wanted to win. Wasn't disappointed. May well keep this one for a good while.
Superb race. Really enjoyed it. Cant believe Degenkolb was up there to take fourth. Much hyped Moser, nothing. Sagan, nothing. Contador, softening legs and having fun, good stuff. Jtl - super smooth, even on an untried distance. Wiggins and Froome shouldnt have bothered to come - they didnt even help JTL. Stannard - really hope SKY let him off domestique duty - Millar says the guy is ridiculously strong and has a racing mentality (think he said something like Phinney said he has the best engine in the peloton).Contador is the Greatest0 -

So Contador does the same as the others but gets a good whilst they get a nothing....
Man, I love you Frenchie! We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

I think the Dutch need to go and chat with Vos to learn how to race. Amateurs today. And on a home course too. Fail.Contador is the Greatest0
