That was a very well timed attack by Phil there. I never understand why chasing riders never chase, I know someone would jump on the back and beat them, but they will get beaten anyway.

Better f*ck about for a medal than nothing at all.

He had 2 other guys on his wheel.

Not enough room on the podium for 4.

BMC now have 4 world champions in their team.
Good to see him finally get his teeth into a race. :P

Was very enjoyable > even if it came down to a sprint up the Cauberg again.

Also really happy with how GB attacked that race today.
Very promising rides from JLT, Stannard, Rowe, and Swift.

Suddenly Gilbert is Belgian rather than Walloonian.... ;)

Yeah, s'pose. I like the death or glory approach though.
  • Millar reckons the whole of Belgium will be drunk tonight...

How would that distinguish it from any other night?

He had a lot of Flemish help so it was a proper Belgian effort for a change.

His form is improving I think, aiming for the WCs reckon he will do it too.

    RR World Champion 2012?

Gilbert I reckon. Stated to come into form during the TdF/Olympics and carrying in in the right direction...

  • Pip happy days. Now first win for the WC next Sunday anyone.

sky might do something in the classics next year. Its good to see british riders doing well on a cse like this. If G, and the Monster Stannard do well on the cobbles we could see british riders at the front in all major races and who would of dreamt of that 10yrs ago.
