I'm really pleased with Brian's response, I like him but the Lance connection was a little doubt I had, some strong words there. Fair play.
Also, chinny, flipping heck! Or is he still trying to wrestle himself out of that contractSaracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame

Lol, some of the stories at the bottom of the Wiggo story on the Mail website are ridiculous. Like a parody. Bruno being introduced to the Yorkshire Ripper by Jimmy Saville!!? :shock:0

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/others ... ation.html is interesting. Apologies if its been posted before, the interesting point is whether the Federal Investigation will be re-opened to look into any possibility that USPS funds provided to the team were used for drug trafficking. That would wipe the smile off the arrogant bastards face.0

I believed I had a responsibility to be a good person, and that meant fair, honest, hardworking and honorable. If I did that, if I was good to my family, true to my friends, if I gave back to my community or to some cause, if I wasn’t a liar, a cheat, or a thief, then I believed that should be enough. At the end of the day, if there was indeed some Body or presence standing there to judge me, I hoped I would be judged on whether I had lived a true life

Here you go...
I feel very sorry for those young riders who were intimidated into taking the drugs. Sure it was their choice, but damn those who forced them.
I will not be happy until Lance and co are stripped of as much of their money as possible for one. And will be happy for them to go to prison.Contador is the Greatest0 -

I think today the Brits come out of this pretty poorly - Wiggins odd comment, Dowsett 'legend', Cummings focus on the charity, Yates 'I know nuffink guvnor', Hammond seeing and hearing nothing and why isn't everyone else banned for life, Brailsford 'shocked, so shocked' when the writing's been on the wall for how long?, Team Sky - Leinders, Barry and possibly Possini... and Julich?
I think it shows where cycling sits in the mainstream media here and the lack of testing questions... I do hope that pro cycling doesn't equally sit in in the past here in other ways.
Has anyone looked at the reaction outside the UK? Maybe Italian riders have reacted similarly in the Italian media for example? We know Sanchez did. Even worse, maybe the media in other countries don't think it's an issue.0 -

I'm interested in knowing this too, as I posted yesterday. Tell you what, I bet its getting no attention in either the homes of Astana or the Global Russian Cycling Project
I did read that Rabobank are coming under pressure but are saying as little as possible
Wonder how the Matt White thing is playing out in Oz? Or Cuddles linked to Ferrari? Or Mick Rogers?0 -

Cuddles isn't linked to Ferrari.
The Mick Rogers thing is well known. Although in 2005 he said Ferrari was best coach in the world. This year he's saying he wasn't worth much.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -

Re Cuddles...hmmm, goes and looks again...apologies to Cuddles if I've defamed him. I've just read up on Mick Rogers comments to Sydney Morning Herald today - didnt realise.0 -

From l'Equipe
"Cancellara: "An old story""It's sad for cycling, but it is a very old history and old stories do not bother me (...) With the new generation of riders, there is hope," responded Fabian Cancellara, on Romandie.com, about the latest developments in the Armstrong case ."
Someone above was asking how it was being reported abroad. Spain and France papers below for example. Google translate will give you a readable translation. "As" has an Englsih version online. Pretty much same as here. Football on the front/back page but plenty of Lance outrage inside.

Cuddles was a client of the Late Aldo Sassi, who was staunchly anti-doping. I dont know how far that goes back though.0 -

A few years back at least one person on here linked Cuddles to Ferrari - I can't remember the details or how strong a link it was so I'm not saying it's anything suspicious - anyone remember the details ?

Might be posted elsewhere but I see Brian Smith has come out and said he thinks his refusal to dope cost him his contract with USPostal. (or was it Motorola - whoever they rode for then anyway )

Heavymental wrote:You do have to wonder where Lance goes from here. The headlines are big enough and the tone is sure enough to mean that public opinion is definitely changed now, even in the states. He is surely at a point now where he is going to get abuse when he steps out of his front door etc
Public opinion has changed, but not sure it quite works like that (sadly). A crude generalisation sure, but many US sports are owned, governed and marketed by companies that don't tackle doping seriously and the viewers have become used to the 'stars' likely being on drugs, esp American football and Baseball. It's about being competetive.
In fact taking drugs (pills) generally is more acceptable anyway. Do what you like to your body with your money. Who is to tell you otherwise ?
Add in to that mix the view that the dodgy euros were all up to this anyway, Lance just beat them at their own game and also did a lot more for charity than any of his accusers and you still have a marketable hero. He's still a winner in a warped way.
Trek and Nike seem to think so anyway.
It will probbaly take a criminal record to change this.0 -
McQuaid:
".......our lawyers are studying that at the moment ................it will be wrong of me to second guess or preempt what our lawyers might decide, so the UCI will wait until that work has been done and then the UCI will make a statement."
Speaks volumes about the bankrupt leadership of UCI. I always thought that the lawyers advised the client, and the client, particularly when the client is in a leadership role, decided what to do.
So we can expect a "legal" rather than a moral response.0 -

I thought his response was right on the money and couldn't be faulted.
Of course the lawyers are going to look at it and make sure it's sound legally. That's what they're there for.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
The client can try and point the laywers in the direction that the client wants, or they can ignore legal advice. That would be evidence of bankrupt, or at least stupid, leadership. You live and learn. At any rate, you live0
