Just like Armstrong "Never offered USADA a 250,000 donation" you mean? ;)

Are Look Mum No Hands showing it live? If I were them I'd organise a Lance night so everyone could turn up on Trek fixies (that's the bike not the outcome of 7 TdF's), wear their casquettes and drink "survivor blend" espresso.

It's on a bit late for me but I would otherwise definitely watch it.

No clue, but I'm betting it will bring in great ratings and be not much more than the usual Oprah feel good fluff.

Seeing as no question is off limits I wonder if she will ask him how he can be clean when so many of his ex teammates have no admitted to doping. As LA himself as said several times he couldn't win without his team mates and they all doped so surely that must mean he can't claim the victory

I don't care either. I know he doper, I don't need him to confirm it.

Those who really care will only be disappointed if he doesn't admit to everything they think he did (whether actually true or not). Some will be disappointed if he doesn't give it the full Budd Dwyer* treatment

*(warning: don't go looking for that on You Tube)

While you may not be interested in watching it (I won't be, given the time slot) can you not knock us up a few Lance/Oprah quote bingo cards?

Lance could never resist a camera or a microphone. The lure of the limelight was bound to get him in a studio at some point. The personality disorder needs massaging. If he could just admit to having a problem he could then seek professional help to sort it out.
He would be happier in his own skin if he could admit, to himself at least, his demons, and then put it behind him.

Fortunately, Ladbrokes have done the heavy lifting for us. They're offering odds on him saying various things. Just randomly pick 25 and put them in a 5x5 grid and you're good to go.

You're assuming that he isn't happy in "his own skin". Maybe he is? As for demons, well, we all have a few of those and mostly we are able to live with them without too many of them causing problems. I think you're assigning demons to him that he may not have. I know pretty much everyone, on this forum, wants him to have all sorts of problems and issues, simply to be a sort of punishment for him but what if he is not as bad off as you would hope? I would speculate that, yes, times are tough for him, much like, on occasion, times are tough on us. This doesn't mean that that it's the end for him any more than it's the end for us when we have problems. At the very least he doesn't seem to be the kind of person to give up on life simply because things aren't going well for the moment. We(you & I) don't simply bail out when times get rough and I doubt LA does either.

He's a human being living on planet Earth. Gained fame and fortune winning Pro bike races. Later discredited because of drug use. Has 5(?) children. Cancer survivor who founded a cancer charity. Subject of a Grand Jury investigation into misuse of federal funds. Stripped of his 7 TDF titles due to previous drug use.

    Feeling enlightened yet? :?

Ahhhhh...you had to say it. Cancer survivor. Why is that trotted out every time his name is mentioned as if it excuses him of any wrong doing? I have two family members, and a friend, who have been lucky enough to survive cancer, but, strangely, It dous not define them as people. They never mention it, it was something bad that happened to them and they got over it.
I did not bad mouth him so why the defensive stance? His type of personality disorder is well documented. Control freak, bully, manipulator, living in denial. So you think he would not be happier if he got help for this and could accept his own, and other peoples frailties?

I think you may be understating the cancer issue. Sometimes it does define who people are. Many people, who have seen and lived through the ravages of the disease, have dedicated their lives to the search for the cure. To say that LA's intentions, with regard to the disease, were not honorable or serious simply because you don't like him is crazy.

For what it's worth I don't consider what I said about him a few posts back as defensive. Just a few ideas and speculation at best.

I don't really know if he's happy or not. You're the one who said, with some authority, that he was / is not. I'm sure he's not the happiest camper at the moment but I don't see him as the type of person to dwell on his condition for long. You seem to be taking a few isolated incidents in his life and making him out to be a nut case because he's got a bit of a temper and likes being the big shot. Using this reasoning I'm thinking that everyone out there, including myself, could have a case made against us for being a bully, mean, uncaring, etc., person.

In any case I'm on your side now. I can forgive anything that forgiveness will allow but him playing the Oprah card is as low as you can go in my book. Seeking redemption from the public on some phony spiritual TV talk show is a stupid as it gets.

Of course it's all rubbish. One of my best friends, whom I've known for 55 or so years, still perplexes me at times as to what makes him tick. To say we know all about the people involved in all this is foolish and a bit arrogant.

Any idea if the rumour that LA is going to ‘singfess’ on Oprah is true? BTW if you don’t know what singfess is, it’s when the lights dim, the house band plays the first few bars to ‘Careless Whisper’ and you rise from the sofa saying ‘Well Oprah, I’ve had a lot on my mind lately…..(emotional gurn) I’M NEVER GONNA DOPE AGAIN, GUILTY PEDALS GOT NO RHYTHM, THOUGH IT’S EASY TO PRETEND, I KNOW YOU’RE NOT A FOOL….(more emotion now) I SHOULD’VE KNOWN BETTER THAN TO CHEAT A FRIEND, WASTE THIS CHANCE THAT I’VE BEEN GIVEN, SO I’M NEVER GONNA DOPE AGAIN, SORRY BETTY ANDREU-HEU-HEU….HE-HE-HE-HEU-U-HEU-U, HE-HE-HE-HEU-U-HEU-U’
