  • The UCI Anti-Doping Rules do not provide for a provisional suspension given the nature of the substance, which is a specified substance,” read the UCI’s release.

So, is he banned, or not?

That will be an interesting tale.

He only just made it before the rest day doping story cut off.

    Lock down the butchers!

I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.

He will be politely asked to leave the race.

I think he should probably ask his supplier for a refund. Perhaps he took the masking agent but forgot to take the actual PEDs? ;)

I was going to ask where's this year's positive test result!

So disappointed! If he'd been great and this happened you wouldn't be so surprised. But now I just think the peloton is as bad as ever.

Don't let Frank Schleck, who is known to have previously paid large money to a doping doctor, affect your faith in other riders. It's no different than Ricco getting caught again.

Why does he need to take a diuretic? People have been taking the p1ss out of him all year.

Xipamide.........As used in acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF), the immediate goal is to re-establish adequate perfusion and oxygen delivery to end organs. This entails ensuring that airway, breathing, and circulation are adequate. Immediated treatments usually involve some combination of vasodilators such as nitroglycerin, diuretics such as furosemide, and possibly non invasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV)....

Sounds like the poor soul is out of breath, God only knows why!!!

It increases the rate of urination. I take an anti-diuretic which does the opposite.

What I can't work out is why it's a banned substance - doesn't sound all that performance enhancing.

He paid Ferrari for 'training plans' anyway.

We can assume Andy's on it too then.

Bet the TdF don't feel so smart retrospectively giving the Tour to Andy.

Its commonly used as a masking agent for something more sinister/performance enhancing.

This must suck for Andy if (IF!) he's clean. His big bro gets done for this + we have the training plan payments and we all automatically assume Andy is dirty too.

They live out of each others pockets.

If Frank gets a bowel movement, Andy knows about it.
