There's only going to be Goss, Renshaw and Cav left for the sprint at this rate!

Dangerous moment for a big pile up, only 25km to go... a few riders were up and chasing the front group hard...

Petacchi, Scarponi, Schleck among the fallers.

No - only Richie Porte (we think) down for Sky but back on the back quickly.

Way too many crashes so far this Tour. It is pretty ridiculous.

Getting easier and easier for Wiggins with these GC riders getting dinked.

Peloton blown to bits by that... tiny group left, maybe 30/40 riders?

Shame that the front group are still racing. No one wants to see a race decided like this. Green Edge is not being too good here. :(

Last year was as bad if not worse. First week is always dodgy, they need some mountains early on to tire them out.

Can't see Hesjedal doing much on GC anyway... More a case of Garmin lacking anybody else!

Big Schleck in duff positioning shocker

There's a break up the road, the race is well and truly on. If you have GC ambitions, you have to fight for wheels. Crashes happen in stages like this.

No, there was a rider in yellow helmet and white jersey just in front. No black shoes so assume it was EBH.
