Cancellara "I could've just stayed in the bunch and kept the yellow jersey, which would've been nice. But then finishing the way i did and keeping the jersey is much nicer."
gotta love him!0 -
OK, this does come from the CN forums, but....Brian Holm says Martin's at the hospital to get an X-ray of his hand, not collarbone.

I'm confused by this bike racing thing Sagan wins and he's a wanker ?The UCI are Clowns and Fools0

Not sure Ifollow much (any)of the above. However, anyone with doubts about Sagan, either in term of ability or inegrity should take ten minutes out and look at a track match sprint.
The bottom line is Sagan rode a cracking race, was a worthy winner, and most importantly will pose a threat if he rides the Olympic Road Race.0 -

After "SAGAN WORKS" should there not be a "ATTACK AGAIN" then a line back to "SAGAN STILL THERE?"“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -

I thought it was a totally classless celebration, but he's still only a kid. At 22, you could hardly expect him to be humble. The Mad Rapper wrote:zammmmo wrote:Exactly. Hardly the strongest was he.0 -

Oh that wouldn't have happened if he had been on a titanium bike or something...0 -
I do hope those dumb ass Yellow Helmets are phased out before.. oh... tomorrow! Who's idea was that? i'm assuming its the the leading team right? But why would we need to know them in the pack? Surely a yellow number is enough?0

Tony Martin was up there at the finish in the Wiggins/Evans group....He cant be out the race surely.0

I think the bit after "Sagan works" needs a further set of possibilities0 -

Back in the day, the leading team used to wear yellow caps, as shown by Team Z...

And Cervelo are charging you about £6000 in the shops for these frames ??? does Joe Bloggs get a "Crash Replacement"0 -
This whole Sagan didn't deserve to win is rubbish. It's about tactics and he did everything perfect for what he is about, winning in a difficult sprint. Ebh gets some cred but had to do too much because he missed the cut when chinny went and that's the fine line he needed to be on the right side of. I am really not sure how cancellara is going to ever win a stage or day race again unless he can power away other riders off his wheel because no one is ever going to do an equal turn with him. Still a gutsy effort today and played about the only card he has0
-
Firstly, hats off to Cancellara for attacking. Always makes the difficult finishes interesting.
Sagen- I thought rode it perfectly. There was no need for him to help Cancellara after bridging especially once it became clear that they weren't going to be caught by the peleton. After that his tactics were spot on, he bided his time and then blew Eddy and Fabien away with his sprint.
I liked his celebration. To me it showed a) he enjoyed his win and b) he has a bit of personality. I would rather see the latter rather than the usual bland arms in the air celebration.
Sky's yellow helmets- look horrible but made it easier to spot Wiggins et al.0 -

I remember they also used to have green caps for the 'team points classification'.

A Crash Replacement discount. Between 15-38% apparently.

He's a wanker apparently , better ask frenchfighter what he means though
After hearing his interview sagan seems like one of the most harmless blokes on the planet and his celebration was a little joke with his matesThe UCI are Clowns and Fools0 -
Anyone know what happened to peter velits? Apart from losing a stack of time. Bad luck or just bad?
I'm watching the tour in norway atm and the EBH worship is quite funny, if a little embarrassing.
I swear they showed over 30mins of him in the prologue yesterday - not bad for a 7min race. Three interviews, one conducted at jogging speed just as EBH had crossed the line and looked like he was about to pass out. About 5 mins of him warming up, 5mins warming down and a bunch of clips of his stage wins last year.
He's a big deal here! Oh and they're big Sky fans too unsurprisingly. A lot of wiggins and cav talk.0 -
Velits punctured just before the final climb.0

Thought it was a great final 15. As soon as the crashes happened it all got jittery and lively. They should throw in some random obstacles on each stage!
Brilliant rides from Cancellara and Sagan. I thought Sagan was absolutely right to stay on the wheel. Cancellara tried to launch the decisive attack, he couldn't drop everyone, it's a bit much to then go "bum you're still there, well could you give me a lead out then?" Sagan was in the perfect position for the stage win, I don't see why he should give that up 500m from the line, even if it would have helped out a popular rider.
Surprised Wiggins let himself get so far back before the climb, a crash could have cost him a lot of time. Still he seemed to get up it pretty well.
Finally, those yellow helmets look stupid.0 -
So are we all united on the yellow helmets at least then?0
-
Theres only one reason why one of the cervelos snapped the way it did. Its obvious that garmin have got their bikes off ebay and bought a load of taiwan fakes.Bianchi. There are no alternatives only compromises!
