View from top:
Rode the whole thing overtaking a bunch of hacks on their triple crowns and full facers, no one came past me until, just dropping into the last short section before the village (Monkey Hands) I am just ducking into the woods when I hear a faster rider behind me, I mess up a rocky step, they catch me and I call out a quick apology before pulling to one side to allow them past. With a quick Cheers mate, three bikes whip past me - Dan Atherton and Martin Maes plus a Giant pro rider I didn't recognise. I set off in pursuit for the last 500 yards - didn't see them moving but they were at the bottom with their lids off by the time I got there!
Gave Dan a nod and a hello. He nodded back. I feel basically like we are best buddies now.

I basically did this loop on Wednesday, plus a couple of others out that way.
Tomorrow I'll do top of the world down to Ride Don't Slide, then spin over and do stages 1 & 2, then might go out and do 3 on Saturday as it's a bit of a mission.
Big day out on Sunday!
You doing the EWS? Best of luck - hoping to get up and watch some of the racing.
Yeah, thought it would be rude not to, as we were out here anyway.
Should be a good day.0 -
25 mile around Hope Valley/Edale/Ladybower, the usual downhills - beast etc.
My legs are dead.0 -
I hope to do the Derwent Res loop tomorrow if I get up at a decent time.0
-
Blackstone Edge today. Bit muddier than taking a hire road bike up Montjuic then up the coast from Barcelona on Tues and Weds.0
-
Just spent a few days in Scotland, enjoying the mud.
Came home today, but saturday was inners where we did the XC in the morning, and DH in the afternoon:
Sunday was Glentress - did the red and one of the EWS descents, which was awesome.
Monday was Comrie Croft and Dunkeld - comrie croft is fun and short, dunkeld DH track is steep and WILD:
(not me)
Tuesday was Dunkeld again, this time some more enduro trails, still pretty steep and wild!:
(not me)
Wednesday was Laggan - lots of fun and good tech:
(me)
And yesterday was fort bill - I rode the red once and the WC track three times - it's so brutal!

a very quick (for me) blast around the verderer's and a new personal best which seems to be happening evrytime i ride. Sounds good but i'm only really getting 1 or 2 off road rides a month now. More commuting on the road at present.I don't know enough to make smart r's remarks about peoples choice of parts 'n' things, yet!0

Had a 2 ride day today - morning was pretty easy trails - Climbing See Colours, down Khybers to Tunnel Vision then up to Big Timber and done. Afternoon up Stonebridge to the Flank, Rockwork Orange to Corova Milkbar, back up and down High Society. Smashed myself up a bit on High Soc - damaged my thumb, not sure how badly, seems pretty sore right now. Might get it checked out tomorrow if pain doesnt ease for tomorrow. Whichever way I foresee a few days of the bike in my future. F*ck.Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0

That's karma getting you back for making us all jealous with all those fantastic rides you do! Could be worse, I've got a broken rib from a crash a couple of weeks back. Still waking me up every time I turn over in bed.All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

how quick do you do it? just to gauge where I'm at0 -
went round the commonwealth course for the first time in ages.0

Had a pleasant spin around Rhossili down on the Gower peninsula this evening. Made a nice change from Afan but the scenery was a bit distracting.

took lewis round the commonwealth course last night - he didn't manage the big hills and got most of the way down double dare. was quite proud of him for trying.

I've heard there's nice loop down there, i'll have to get down there and try it sometime0 -
Had a great ride at Aston Hill last night, XC course was in perfect condition, and forgot how much I hate the climb back up! :P0
-
Had a good blast out round dunkeld today, some good steep techy stuff, had a bit of an OTB coming off the top haha! All in all a good morning out!0
-
Another day out on the dales rail yesterday, the last one of the summer. Started at Dent, headed to Ribblehead past the viaduct, then up and over Whernside. Had to stop half way down the descent because of cramping hands and arm pump, what a cracker!0

Broke out the lights last night for the first time since Spring for a quick run around Swinley. Seemed to be more riders out riding lights than I see hitting the trails on a Sunday during the day or a few months back when we had daylight!Bird Aeris : Trek Remedy 9.9 29er : Trek Procaliber 9.8 SL0

Went up Sky Hill and down the Kerrowmoar decent last night, first proper run on the new T-129S and loving it so far!
Its a 13 mile round trip that takes in a tough climb and a tricky decent. Broke out the lights too as it was totally dark by the time I hit the decent, running a Solarstorm on the bars but coud of done with a helmet light too really.Paracyclist

was up at Comrie Croft today - first time there and didn't really know where to go lol. Followed the climb up to where you see the short cut to red/black. did a bit of that but for my skill level the rocks were too damp so did a small loop back to the fire road and then went down the blue. Chickened out on the black bit on the upper blue run but jumped the burn. Had a coffee and a cake before checking out the skills area before heading back up the hill to redo the blue from the middle part. Played about in the skills area for a while before heading home.
Would like to do the red/black in the dry though and take lewis up for the skills part and blue loop.
managed to fall over in front of a family just coming off the pump track at about 2mph
Was quite impressed with the trail centre has a good range of trails.

Getting into night riding, just local but it is scary. Feels twice as fast as you are actually going (which was slow). Saw an owl, which was nice.0

Went to Dalby yesterday morning but gear problems stopped me from completing the red route0

Kirroughtree and Glentrool last Tuesday,
Barely done any MTB this year since my off in Jan, lacked confidence on parts of Kirroughtree, will get into it once the wetness arrives.0 -
Went out on my hardtail today - 5 weeks off the bike, still not able to hold the bars so was limited to one hand braking, seated pedalling and generally just spinning along the flattish tarmac but it was good to be out, did about 10k.Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0

Went to Coed Y Brenin again this weekend with my 9 year old seems to be his fav place at the moment.
Cader Idris looked quite moody as we drove past with low cloud and mist.
We decided to ride the Dragons Back, well dad did and not tell him it's the longest red route there all went well some quite rocky/rooty trails, Lurch slab rock roller coaster start was quite interesting, as we got to the end and only around 30 feet from the end D clipped a rock on the edge of the trail which brought him off, and then went over a 15' drop onto the fire road below, he was all right but dads hart rate went through the roof.
Pic in the fore ground was the rock and the pic doesn't do the drop justice.

Gisburn.
I love Gisburn. I planned on heading up to Grizedale, but booze happened on Friday so I got up too late. New climb bit is good, but a bit tricky in places. Yes, I dabbed. A lot.0 -
Did Gisburn today (Saturday) again. I love the place. Was supposed to go with a mate but he went out Friday and was in no fit state so went on my own. Slapped the headphones in and went hell for leather - did the Hope line for the second time ever (only recently felt like I could take it on), really hit it hard, the last few jumps gave me a taste of some proper airtime.
Only been doing this biking thing a few months, but today it felt odd to be on a trail and having people pull in to let me past when they look fitter than me and have far better bikes.0
