Yup, agree with you there. Just when you want to tune in, they will be showing touring cars! No such problems a week later. The day kicks off at 10:00 with some track racing and finishes at 4:00. Not that I'll see any of it, I'll be standing by the roadside hopefully in snowstorm!0 -

Hmmm - not naturally English-speaking, a scrapper, a self-proclaimed bastard and sounds somewhat amazed at himself.
My short-list - De Vlaeminck, Tchmil or Van Petegem
Edit - Damn, too late!'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0 -

I once raced against van Petegem up a cobbled climb.
(on a stationary bike at the Ronde Museum in Oudenaarde).

Certainly not.

None....I ll have to send some over to you - probably take 5 working days or so (and will be dutch). I'm planning on stopping by the take away on the way back from my bike race on the morning and getting some BeNeLux staples to enjoy the race with! We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

The Oude Kwaremont
Is that the longish, not so steep, not the nicest of cobbles climb?
I think it was the first cobble climb when I did the sportive in 2010. Was a bit of a shock to the system, having never climbed on cobbles before and with well over 100k already in the legs. I think I cried a little.0 -
I have a strange image of a bloke in full Quickstep kit mincing and singing around his living room.
As for Friets, maybe one of those Belgian beer places? There's one in Clapham and there used to be one on the Fulham Palace Road I think...memory is hazy for obvious reasons."I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0 -

Yeah, it's a sh!tfight to get there, it's steeper at the bottom, but it goes on for a long time. Flattens out at the top but with some hefty cobbles. Can expect someone like Cancellara who's followed up the first half to 'attack' or make a considerable gap in the second half.0 -

Hmm. I'll check out the Fulham Place road tip tomorrow.0 -

Gilbert on the other hand, has confirmed what we all knew - that he's nowhere near fit enough.
