Whats your realistic dream car?

I used to have an mk2 MR2 Turbo T-top. Fookin fast and a lot of fun but I'm currently looking for my next toy.
I'm seriously considering buying an Audi S3 quattro with the DSG (flappy paddle) gearbox and a 3.2 ltr engine that you get a similar fuel economy to my current vectra 2.2SRI.
I might settle for the audi a3 tdi quattro sport with the DSG gearbox.+ 1001 posts reset by the cruel cruel moderators!

They're still 140bhp or 170bhp for the top models.+ 1001 posts reset by the cruel cruel moderators!

there's a lot to be said for this
unless you do a track day, which costs a fecking heap, there's nowhere you can drive your car in the UK like you can ride your bike
i love fast cars, but the UK is not the place to own a performance motor0 -
Take it up the bealach na ba or similiar and you could have a good time... But the really good places to ride/drive on the road are mostly miles from anywhere. I think having the motorbike's spoiled me for road driving, most of my favourite roads don't work very well on 4 wheels... stuff like the duke's pass at Kilmahog is just frustrating in a car due to the lack of space and visibility but on a bike you can use the width of the laneUncompromising extremist0

HSV clubsport r8 tourer.
Actually, pretty much any of the HSV range would do me nicely.
Dodge Challenger SRT8 with the 392 Hemi
Mustang Shelby GT500
I have always had a thing for proper muscle cars.
They are remarkably affordable and unlike some of you, I don't have the problem of having nowhere to drive them "properly".0 -
My desire for a muscle car has recently been made a million times worse by the fact that one of the girls from marketing has just bought one of the VXR8s and her parking space is in the underground carpark at work, right next to the bike rack.
Quite honestly, I get a semi everytime she fires it up.0 -
Oooooh! A V8 in an underground carpark! The monaro's are cracking cars! Don't see many around anymore, shame as they were amazing vfm too!
There's a guy at the end of the road that rebuilds classic american V8's! Runs a Hilux with a Blown 8 in it, intake out the bonnet job! Sounds Amazing up and down thje road, and once had the pleasure of hearing him open it up Fully on a two lane stretch out of town! Suddenly turned into an exciteable little boy again!
He's got a 'vette StingRay at the mo he uses a fair bit and an Old thunderbird!
Also a load of Old classic yank trucks in the area (fair old yank car scene down here), such awesome things to see about! Early 50's chevy trucks!Timmo.
After all, I am Cornish!

Not sure I follow.
HSV are only available from Oz (to the best of my knowledge). Any Holden or HSV bought in the UK has to have been shipped from there at some point.
Remember, I'm not talking about the Vauxhall badged versions so surely HSV = HSV ??0 -

I'm guessing he means having all that power and all those smiles is bad in the UK, because the rozzers will try to take both away from you...
A guy ripped by me on the A1 today riding a motorbike... God knows what it was but I could hear it screaming for a good three lamp posts ahead of me over my own engine at 75mph. That guy must have been having the equivalent of a party in his underpants. So I'd like a go on Icarusgreen's Ninja0 -
Ahhhh, I see.
As I said though, that's not really an issue for me. I have the perfect place to drive one of those bad boys (without breaking any laws)0 -
