    That is gorgeous.
    I'd love an R34 myself.

Thing is, I'm a sucker for hot hatches.

I'd love to have a 306 Rallye sat in the garage... .assuming I had a garage.

I'm with you there. The GTR was awsome, but down here in Devon the hot hatch rules as you can't really get the bigger cars upto speed. Had a GTI-R for a few years and that was quick and still small, but for me I have a huge soft spot for the 205 GTI.

Yeah, where I grew up it was all about lanes. Small and agile was much quicker than big and powerful!

A lad I went out with owned a fire spitting 306 Rallye.. must be running about 190bhp now. Fully stripped and road rally prepped, its bloody gorgeous.

I'd love a 205 1.6 GTI... the 1.6 has a lighter bottom end and revs up quicker than the 1.9. Not as quick top speed, but the lightness makes up for it in the corners.
  • Got to say, I own a variant of sorts of the Skyline. Same RB motor. And whilst I love it to bits, it can't be driven to it's full potential legally. Only once you begin to break the national speed limit on the motorway does it feel happy. And then it wants for more. Comfortable and placid at 100, and again it wants more! Take it around the doors and it becomes a chore. Turbo lag city. But primed at 60. Ready to go.

Hot hatch for me next I think. When I get the guts to sell this one :(

Had a 1.6 gti which got hit from behind and funded a 1.9. Collected and drove it straight to a local engine builder who returned it with 45's and 143 @ the wheels. Was lots of fun and would hit the limiter in 5th, but was the sound for me that put a smile on my face every time I drive. Excuse the driving, I was hungover:http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v430/kenan_hill/?action=view&current=pug.mp4

I sold the engine off when I got the GTR to use to 205 as a daily driver and put a MI16 in to improve the MPG. It was better on the fuel but ruined the car, les power, oil surge, and no 45's roaring at me.
  • Jesus, thats a noise and a half!

    You ever seen bic's 106?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXkrvuRer1s

Slightly illegal driving... but in the video its got a 1600 longmans engine wit sequential box and sounds the mutts.

Last I heard, it had a 2.0 touring car spec engine in it

the 106 is a bit small for me though haha.

Got me on the running costs of a Bowler I guess.

Real-world affordability vs performance I guess the car sitting on my drive right now fits the bill as well as any (and suits the current hot hatch chat here well too). Small and agile enough to be fun on any road, quick enough to be useful on a motorway and practical enough to (just about) transport dogs and/or bikes. Plus the most driving fun I've had since my teen years throwing (proper) Minis around fen roads.

This is my dream car... don't think it's too ambitious, though one in decent nick does cost a fair bit.

I bought one a few years back on eBay, got a it for a really good price and the seller became very elusive and I ended up buying the porker, but its definatly a itch I want to scratch! (my wife hates them she refers to them as skoda lookalikes  )

Ooh the Delta floats my boat. I'm very pleased with the number of retor cars making it on here. Makes for good watching.

PHz - hows reliability on a megan? We need a small car but the Misses doesn't want to go French. Though we'd be getting one with a latrine for an engine.

Mine's already been and gone. The original 4 wheeled v-sign to the world, my old Mitsubishi Evo 6 (RIP):

Had it for a year and a bit now with no issues whatsoever (did have a complete new engine a couple of months before we bought it though).

Had a Laguna Turbo for 3 years before that which did have one isolated issue with the electronics but was sound apart from that.

Before that we had two Pugs (206 GTi and a vanilla 306) that were both pretty flawless apart from one collapsing exhaust on the quick one.

    We QUITE like French cars...

Wow, sounds like you've had a damn lucky time with French cars, mine has electrical gremlins, and three friends who currently have Frenchies are constantly digging into their life savings to keep them on the road...

Escort Cosworth for me. I'm a fan of all the cossies but the escort is the one.
Oddly the car I wanted most as a kid was an Escort rs turbo.
If the mrs would let me, I would go and buy a mk2 fiesta xr2 tomorrow.

I'm torn, love VW Transporters at the moment and was dead set on one of those modified but then came across these at a recent car show -

New Subaru Impreza STi 320R, yum, thank god they started to go away from the hatchback look and back to the sedan.

    I have been out playing with a employees 94 Celica GT4 8)
This was his realistic dream car.
Its 60K from new, and is mint, but as its white the pigment in the paint has gone slightly.
He's going down the Castrol body wrap route! 8)
It drives lovely and is super quick and i would say i'm a little jealous.

My best mate and I when we were kids and full of rubbish loved two cars, the Imprezza and Celica, and we both begged our mums to buy them as the family run arounds. Celica definately still holds a soft spot. Shame it went front wheel drive...
