Granted it's a lot of work, but the power delivery of a bike engine (with a 14,000 rpm rev limit) and a ridiculous power to weight ratio
(complete Lotus 7 build around 550kgs) makes it hard to beat.
The Tiger Z100WR uses Twin GSXR 1000 Suzuki engines split, not linked to give four wheel drive, with a 0-60 time of 2.9 seconds and once broke the world 0-60mph record.0 -
the advantage of two bike engines, compared to one tuned one, is more torques, i believe.0
-
Mmm, I dunno...A 300bhp Busa should be knocking out more torque than a pair of ZX9Rs. Depends how it's tuned o'course.
Ah who cares, it's fab anyway For people for whom bike engined cars just don't seem silly enough.Uncompromising extremist0 -

I wouldn't mind a mapped MK4 Golf R32I assume this is French petrol - be careful in reverse - the car will retreat rapidly at the least provocation.0

If you buy a LHD model you could aim for 550 bhp.

Lancia Stratos (probably the Hawk Cars replica to make it realistic) in bright red or preferably lime green.
or for around town one of these
Remember passing one of these on the approach to the Forth Road Bridge many years ago. We had to car hood down and you could hear this thing from about 100 yards away as it hacked along the dual carriageway out of Edinburgh at almost 60 mph. Passing it was so loud it was painful.Coffee is not my cup of tea

Original M3 would be good - that one isn't original enough for my tastes.
This 2002 Turbo would be nice though:

My dad got a 2012 Audi A6 Allroad yesterday, took it for a spin to the shops just before, it was just ridiculously smooth and comfortable, plus all the adjustable air suspension and things make it go really well in the corners too.
Think I will stick with my Subaru Outback 3.0R for a bit more excitement than the Audi though!

I'd go all sensible and have a remapped E350cdi estate with all the goodies for carting the family about, a brand new VW T6 California for weekends away and for the commute to work round country lanes a Motore Centrale Fiat 500.Visit Clacton during the School holidays - it's like a never ending freak show.

Oh good choice on the M3 E30, awesome looking motors.0 -
Quite a lot of Golf fans on here then! My Dad's owned about 15 over the years - had a letter in VW Motoring about 10 years ago when he owned a Mk1 (1985 GTI Convertible in Mars red, which they've still got), a Mk2 (later big-bumper GTI 16v), a Mk3 (1996 VR6 in Flash red, still got) and a Mk4 (1999 GT TDI). The VR6 is really nice to drive, only got about 40k on the clock still.
Although I really hate the image that comes with it (which is justified by many of the owners IMO) I'd really like an Audi A5, boring as they are:

Been thinking about getting one of these next. If anyone's got one and fancies a change, maybe we can do a deal Realistically though, fuel prices and insurance are crippling me....I think I might end up with a Skoda and more money for the bike.0 -
Aye, I'm going to end up with a Galaxy or a Mondeo estate, and a year's worth of racing, uplifts and foreign holidays can be my "dream car" insteadUncompromising extremist0
