Now I'm not normally fast enough to bag KOMs (KOVs maybe) but I got this this morning with the help of a bit of wind. But it doesn't show up on the leaderboard, still shows my old best time down on the 56th spot. WTF?

Any ideas why it's not showing me at the top on 'Overall'?
I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.

You can normally try premium for free in January - then you get to find out exactly what there is in Premium. For me, aside from the Heatmaps (which you can get elsewhere or just update during the free offer), there is nothing!

Ignoring all the rift raff not on here, I matched 2nd place London bridge south, 28.7 mph

now i'm fucking pissed some twat tried to null my pre Magnificat ride avg 15 mph over 85 miles which is in no way fast but i guess they didnt like me taking 2 KOMs in that ride and 2 2nd places, FFS not only does that ride show i pootled the whole route and nailed every climb but a quick look at the two weeks before would show i did the same climbs 0.1 & 0.2 mph slower respectively, grrrr to the twat that flagged it. thankfully i have Garmin & strava data t prove all my rides.

if you cant stand people riding up hill faster than you do post on Strava, simples!

and yes its entirely possible to ride up a 10+% climb above 17 mph 20-25 if you really want, pain is short lived

    TWAT

Uh oh! My 20 month reign as KOM on Col du Balham Hill (Balham sans lights) just ended. And I'm 200 miles away.
  • I wasn't happy being joint top at 51s so I went for it, got lucky with the lights and traffic and remembered to shift into the granny ring to maintain pace on the way back out. It worked.

It's also helpful that most people are terrified of riding on the coast road.

    just saying ...
Set a Goal for this Segment
This segment is ineligible for a segment goal because it has an average downhill grade of less than -0%

Got to get my kicks where I can!

I bet I can break 40s if I get a good draft on the way in, I only got a Clio that time, a Transit would be ideal, oh and a stiff easterly would help too.

  • Someone who I don't know gave me Kudos on my commute home on Monday, despite it being a pretty dull ride home with no trophies.

I've looked on his profile, and the guy doesn't live anywhere near me, and I don't know him from Adam. What's going on?????

Last time I went to swinley Forrest, was 78 achievements over 17miles. Not suprising really I'd started to physically recover and had a newer faster MTB.

Fair play to the guy who is leading the campagnolo challenge by duplicating rides from his garmin and iphone app. Great idea but not sure i would have that thick a skin...

Great effort. Drake is an animal - has a big sackful of KOMs up here!

Which of the SE climbs compares in your opinion?

None really. Simply isn't anything that long down here. Similar to a few in the Peaks/Derbyshire mind.
  • LEJOG done. That's both directions in two years. Although this year with only 1200 miles ridden before we started, and over a stone heavier. On a new saddle (same as the old one which has a cracked rail, but obvs not broken in). And the fairy didn't visit.

Tinged with great sadness though, as a lady on the ride was in a serious RTA - RIP. This resulted in one of the days being cut short, and a large number of riders being unable to finish that days stage as the road remained closed for four hours. (That said the total distance ridden is more than the shortest possible lejog). The organisers and the police handled it really well - especially given the awful incident.

What do you mean you think 64cm is a big frame?
  • That was a fun ride home: 19 PBs in one ride :)

Might have something to do with the two dickhead roadies who took a flaming tow off me for over a mile. It's called a tow path but that was taking the p*ss.

Then the MTB guy who was going to be quicker than me over the rough stuff but I overhauled him. He then decided to ride through the "get off and walk!" section, so I just hauled him in again...

I feel like a bad person, created a segment in Richmond Park :| . One for the SW commuter doing an extension home.

Unfortunately for me it's been ridden by a Pro, best I can hope for is 2nd!
