Good work. Was that on the commuter?

Remember though, Strava adds on a few seconds for that segment.

F*ck no. The commuter is Singlespeed for a start. T'was on the Dogma and Garmin agrees on the time (makes a change!).

Nicked another second off Amersham Way last night - good entry, right gear and strong up the hill but spoilt by the scooter I was gaining on dithering around, so had to back off and undertake him going into the corner. Otherwise there would have been another second gone...

I think my technique is getting better as well, though I have been quicker up that incline in places. Still had plenty of puff at the end.

Don't think I'll ever catch Big Mat but 31 should be possible for me sometime, maybe 30 on the right day, conditions and no traffic.
  • Well done James, I saw your result last night and I tried it today in the morning: not so good start for me as I stuck behind a van at the bottom of the hill but was OK at the end. I got a feeling that if you really want to crack a segment then you have to ride in the night...

certinaly in london/urban areas, But out of town shouldn't be a problem.

Boxhill isn't normally a problem, and to be honest most of the climbs in Richmond Park are fine it's trying to do Laps that you'll get held up etc.
  • one thing that I have noticed is that after changing all my activities to commute, it has knocked my power down by quite a bit and the small 400ft climbs I have done have now changed to highest 7ft!!!
Sorry its not me it's the bike ;o)

    New Dark Hill PB.

Was struggling to get anywhere near a minute. Highest before today was 1.06.

Got a little advice on here. Smashed it today.

    54 seconds :).

3 seconds quicker than me... This will be addressed shortly
  • Some scamp has been taking my KOMs round these parts recently. Situation rectified this afternoon. Also nicked one from a very decent rider at AW Cycles. I expect his vengeance will be swift, painful and unobtainable!

  • With or without the 40kg backpack? ;) In fact, forget the backpack, just give Chasey a piggy-back up there.

Leave my SCR KOM alone please.

Technically JonGinge is the SCR KOM with 44 seconds, but he's not joined the SCR club on Strava...

Did well coming the other way though t'other day, put me at 43rd (3rd on SCRs) on climb 1, but still behind the sodding lady! AARGGHHH

In a sexist, chauvinist way, I am worrying.

Plus I still recall the day I saw you bombing past me up up Dark Hill shortly after you got the dogma2 EPS, so I know there is plenty of margin for improvement, both in fitness and technique!!

My time in the park has been all about endurance, looks like I need to have a go at some segments and give Dark Hill and Ballet School a proper go as I'm slipping down the order. Best is currently 58s for Dark Hill and 1:37 for Ballet School. Must try harder...
