Contador just interviewed on ES stated he expected to be able to take 5 minutes out of today

He said it as a joke though, as a comedy aficionado you should have picked up on that Al.

Looking at what teams are in the break, a couple of BMCs & a Leopard.
Now, is this a bit of a hint that Evans & a Schleck or two, aim to put in a big attack, at least to shed Voekler, with team mates up the road, either to drop back to help, or wait until they've bridged the gap & then work for them on the flatter bits?

Apparently Bertie already been to the medical car today complaining of knee pain.

So - either more sandbagging or he's in distress again. We shall see.

His form is coming back. He could destroy the field today. If he took 5 mins, he'd be in yellow tonight wouldn't he?

Let's hope he's not in distress. Like him or not, a fit AC has made it more exciting.

If he takes 5mins I guarantee he'll be up in front of the doping beak again I guarantee it.

Apparently the Agnel is just like the Bwlch but a lot longer, and a lot steeper :D

I think Bertie is having a bit of fun with them. perhaps trying to encourage early action and watch the schlecks go pop.

if he's not then this could turn into another damp squib

Theres a 3% 50 metre long incline mid-way through my 5 mile commute. I don't know what all the fuss is about.

Carlton Kirby doing a Prof Brian Cox impersonation

I like the way Sean Kelly never says a word to Carlton. I can't work out if only David Harmon can hear Kirby or if Sean just thinks he's a total eejit and refuses to engage with him.

That was some good camera work.

Firstly, standing on the crowd to give a fans eye view of the breakaway coming past.

Then the helicopter sweeping up from the break over the shoulder of the Agnel and down to the bunch

Is it the same video feed on Eurosport and ITV4?

Is Gilbert's attack an attempt to force the pace up a bit as part of the Cav missing the cut off plan?
